Re: LeeT, I see you're online!

Hi All, Thank you for all your love and prayers, I have been keeping a quiet profile these days and more a lurker than an active particpant. Things are going okay, CEA still rising, my eyes are very yellow and my liver is definitely not functioning well. It is still giving off a lot of fluid and I l...

Re: Update on Larry

Oh Anji, I am sorry to read your pain. At least they were able to dx the blot clot and hopefully resolve it quickly. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Larry and kids.

Not gas.....

So last Friday I ended up with a very distended abdomen, no energy and in quite a lot of discomfort...ooooh and on and off fevers. So after much deliberation and "ass" dragging I went off to the ER thinking they could just give me something for the "gas" and send me home. All the...

How to raise Platelet Count?

So had another delay yesterday- first it was my WBC causing havoc now that I have that under control with Neupogen the FOLFOX has gone and destroyed my platelets- the count was 61 yesterday! Is there anything that I can take to increase the numbers- my onc says rest and a few days delay should fix i...

Re: liver met question.

Hi Kelley, My pain in my liver is what alerted me and Dr's to my cancer. Pain in my upper right quadrant (under rib cage) and then referal pain under my collarbone. The pain went away when I started FOLFIRI and then started again when the FOLFIRI stopped working- extreme pain! Had difficulty lifting...

Catchy slogan needed

Hi All, For CRC month we are doing a fundraiser at work ,and will be doing a yoga marathon (ie classes throughout the day) - proceeds from the class entry will go towards CRC research. We need a catchy slogan (nothing too racy) to promote our event, as we will be advertising it starting next week I ...

Re: going back to work tommorow

I loved going back to work- took my mind off of the whole cancer thing and thinking about it 24/7. It was a bit akward for others though who I had not seen since being dx'sd...I think they were a little unsure about what to ask etc. but since then I chat openly about everything and I am glad to say ...

Re: rash

Hi Mamma, Sorry to hear about the rash- that would suck. Hair wise was a tough decision for me until I looked like a Dr. Seuss character with bits of long hair...hubby went at then with a pair of scissors. I felt much better after that and actually got some confidence to wear the pixie look. You can...

Re: Getting worse, no more folfiri for me

Tim, Sorry to hear about the news. I know not continuing on FOLFIRI is so disappointing...to me that was like the "country club" chemo compared to FOLFOX (well just the neuropathy side of it). I hope they can sort out your kidneys soon but good that your liver and lungs are still clear. Ke...

Re: No chemo today :(....NEW INFO!!!!...Really bad news

Oh Elissa, I can feel your pain and sense of anguish. My tumors seem to be of the aggressive nature too and together with my Onc we are trying to miss an appointment. When I did miss one I was in bed and on drugs for a good week with excrutiating liver pain. But then when I did have chemo the pain p...

Re: Has anyone heard from Gloria Ann?SAD NEWS

I am so sorry to hear about this news..I remember her posts due to the use of capitals- made her memorable (I figured that she was a full of life and bubbly person and maybe an extrovert). I guess we have another angel watching over us....

Re: Fever with Folfox

I was wondering if this was a side effect. I had a fever of 101- 102 and chills on the day of pump disconnect...ended up going to the hospital for blood tests...WBC was fine. Now I know for next time.

Re: Officially joined the FOLFOX bandwagon

Hey CR Guy, Thanks for the prescription a hell of a lot better than "two tylenols and a good luck". I would be in Vancouver in a heart beat, will pack wellies and life raft- may steal those floatable devices from under the plane seat for extra measure. I love Vancouver and they have sooooo...
