Re: Wondering about Debbie (Debzak)

Here I am. I had the stent put in on Monday and I must say it was not fun. The bilirubin dropped but then seemed to sneak back up a little today, so I am hoping it is an error. I decided to stay at Sloan till tomorrow cause I started radiation on T3 and they couldn't me seen at basking ridge till Mo...

Debzak update. Atleast I'm already in the hospital

Good news: the clotting factor number dropped from 6 to 2.9. So we should be able to put the stent in Monday. Bad news: as expected the bilirubin number is up,2 points to an 8. And, in case I maws board, my sister in law commented that my left eye led was droopy. I wasn't concerned, unto I looked in...

Re: Here i go again.

Sloan looked for the mutations after the cancer had already spread. My understanding is docs are going to start looking for it earlier. As it turns out now my blood is not clotting so that needs to be fixed first, then we can put the stent in....this whole thing is making me crazy! I am soo tired! D...

Here i go again.

So, I write from my hospital bed at Sloan. I was at kemeny's yesterday to hear about how my tumors are growing like wildfire. Hence the loss of energy and appetite. Good news is there is a new clinical trial with dr. Hyman, who I can see while I am there....then my labs come back....I am jaundice an...

Re: Finished chemo

I see my onc on wed and I want to ask for a break. I have had 14 or 15 rounds. 4 rounds ago we added erbitux and I don't think it did its job. Plus it is killing my mouth more each time. Today was the first solid food I had in a week. My mouth hurts so much I can only drink and have soup. I don't ev...

Re: BAG WON'T STICK

I use the Convatect moldable wafer. The puddly fills,in the spaces and it sticks pretty well. I also put stoma adhesive around the stoma. Make sure your skin is clean. Use Johnson and Johnso baby soap and rise it,off well. No lotions near it either. I also use the Brava strips around then outside of...

Re: I need to find some motivation

Thanx again guys. I have a thermos with salt water/baking soda next to my tooth brush and I do have magic mouth wash, but sometimes that hurts too, not to mention I can't taste the food. I have been eating cream soups lately and I am calling the onc today. I know I should find someone to talk to. Ty...

I need to find some motivation

So, this has not been a good start to the new year for me either. I am a little disappointed with dr. kemeny for not giving me the "real" info from my MRI and PET scan, I had to read them myself, as well as for not having any solutions for my chin tingling. Granted, when we saw her we were...

Re: 2 on 10 off.... Is this normal so to speak? CHEMO?

I have been on the two week cycle of flofiri with erbitux just added 6 weeks ago. I started in June and I have no end in sight. To tell you the truth I am exhausted. And my cancer is still spreading. I see dr. K at mskcc. Started it with a liver spread and now it is in lungs, bones and who knows whe...

Re: thanks for support, but I want real # on bone mets

I guess when I say I want numbers I want you guys to tell me you are still kickin it 10 years later with bone mets. Of course the skull ones are a little upsetting but I did email kemeny's office to see if we could radiate that one. I will take the pain meds if I need to and move on. I just took a 3...

thanks for support, but I want real # on bone mets

I truly appreciate the support and love, but I really want to know who has bone mets, and for how long can I stay alive with them. Of course I realize my skull mets might be alittle more serious, but I also have rib, spine and who knows what. ALso, should I tell Kemeny I want off Erbiux? I realize w...

Re: How long can u live with bone mets? Scan results

Kemeny said if one or two start bother me we can try radiation, but there are too many to do it on all of them. I am a little worried that the skull ones will start pushing on my brain. She asked if I had head aches or eye issues, which now makes sense knowing where the mets are. I just don't want t...

How long can u live with bone mets? Scan results

So, I don't know if this is better or worse. I don't have a brain tumor. I have 3-4 gone mets in my scull. One by the base, one on the occipital bone, one near the right frontal lobe. Each is about 1cm by 1 cm. also my liver tumors and lung tumors have grown slightly and I have bone mets in my ribs....

Re: All's Well that Ends Well…..I Guess

Since you mention company's, dr. Kemeny's office has never asked for one nor has the hospital send a bill. Am I going to get a big bill soon for the whole year!
