Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

kpjmom (and everyone else), I had radiation for the first time last year for some spine mets, and a shoulder blade met. It seemed to help with the pain. Since I was hospitalised on death's door last October, I was on 100 mg Kapanol (Oral morphine) twice a day and have now reduced to 30 mg twice a da...

Re: RAYM, how are you? **UPDATE by RAY**

Sorry you are having QOL issues and fatigue. I am also suffering from bad fatigue, to the point that my doc has got me in hospital to have some blood. Hope it helps.

Re: oh of course - new issues neutrophils this time

I have had low neutrophils on my first round of irinocetan + 5FU and had 3 shots of neutropen (I think it was neutropen). Got some thigh bone pain but it did a great job on the neutrophils. I haven't had a big problem since, although they did drop again towards the end of my second round. The pain s...

Re: How to live the rest of my life.

I have 2 young girls (8 and 11) and my worst fear is thinking of them growing up without me, but that's probably what is going to happen. I've been close to the end a few times but keep bouncing back. I quit work in Sept 2013 by taking my life insurance, not sure if you can do that. We took a 6 week...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

Checking in again. Sorry to hear of everyone's problems. I'm back in hospital due to severe fatigue. I literally find it difficult to get out of bed, to walk any distance. Palliative doc thinks it due to the diarrhea from irinotecan as my potassium is down. Haemoglobin was also low so I got some blo...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

Well, CT results weren't the best. Last scan was June 2014 and I had been off treatment for some for some of that time which needs to be taken into consideration. BUt the multiple liver and lung lesions have increased. My lymph nodes have shrunk, so I guess that's a good thing. I've only read the re...

Re: mCRC STAGE IV OR RECURRENT PATIENTS thread - ONGOING

This thread as gone a bit quiet again so I thought I would post and bring it back to the front page. I hope the holidays were ok for everyone. I must admit I enjoyed them more than I thought I would, it was good to be home rather than hospital. I have still been suffering bad fatigue and we are unsu...

Re: weighing options

Seems good to me. I am on a reduced dose of irinotecan (not sure how much) and 5-FU bolus at infusion (no take home pump). I go 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off. I get some loose bowel motions but I have had that since being hospitalised and not given much hope 2 month ago or so. I get some fatigue. No nause...
