Cancer and dating

Hello, I haven't been on here in awhile. I'm newly divorced and entering the dating world. Wondering when you tell someone you have had cancer? I've been talking to someone I met online for about a week and last night I told him about my cancer and how the chemo has left some residual side effects. ...

Oprah Magazine August 2011 issue

Did anyone see the short article on page 119 about the woman who had colon cancer? She kept having dreams about sick people trying to tell her something. After several visits to the dr and 5 dreams, she insisted on a colonoscopy, even though she had no symptoms. She had a mass in her colon. It was e...

Re: Did Chemo/Dry Mouth rot your teeth?

Wow, good point. Since we pay a whopping $2300.00 a month in health insurance premiums for our family, they should have to pay for it!

Did Chemo/Dry Mouth rot your teeth?

Shocked to go to dentist this morning and discover I have 6 cavities. I am meticulous about my teeth. I am wondering about the severe dry mouth I had during chemo. I still have dry mouth but not as bad as when I took chemo. Anyone else had a shocker like this at the dentist?

Has anyone been told to take a daily baby aspirin to prevent polyps from returning? GI told me this today. Just wondering if this is becoming common.

Re: New Q's from Old Member

Terry I have had genetic testing but no genetic link was found. Lydia, the dr was very obviously irritated at me. I'm sure he didn't believe I followed protocol. My husband said to me "that dr has no idea what it's like to live with someone who hasn't eaten in 2 days. He has no right to be angr...

New Q's from Old Member

I have been NED for about 3yr. I had a colonoscopy in 08 which was normal. Had one this week and had 2 polyps. Dr said they weren't cancerous but he removed them and said to come back in 2yr. He said these type of polyps (ones that appear before age 50) are aggressive and regrow. I didn't expect thi...

Re: What should I have my blue M & M’s say?

If it were me, I would have half of them printed "semi-colon" and the other half with semi-colons on them.

p.s. Someone must be having fun with those confirmation codes. I had to log in and the code was 5FU. No kidding.

I had the pleasure of meeting Shawn this past August at the Big Dam Problem fundraiser in Little Rock. What a great guy! So upbeat and positive. He was a lot of fun to be around. I am so saddened by his passing.

Re: My Onc is quitting.:(

I sympathize with you. My onc didn't just quit- he disappeared overnight in a scandal that has been successfully covered up by the hospital. I was very sad that I didn't even get to say goodbye to him.
