Re: Did the aroma of your gas change after resection?

yea the 'new normal'....I had to get use to that line cause I did not want to accept that with the ongoing massive gas/ ongoing neuropathy / eye issues but no choice since my last chemo was April of 2012.....WOW what a great idea on the Dr Scholl foot inserts...I am gonna try that. Does it work well...

Re: Did the aroma of your gas change after resection?

...I was dx the same as you, had resection, and 6 months on xeloda. Was 62 years old then. This was back in 2011. It is now 2015 and things have got somewhat better but gas is a huge issue as yet. I posted about 6 months ago re: major farting and what to do about it. There is no answer as far as I a...

Re: gas+++

I have tried extra fibre but that equals extra gas ! as well other over the counter 'meds'. Nothing helps. Now I am looking at charcoal 'underwear' or charcoal pads to put in underwear. (I have not tried charcoal by mouth as some say it works, kinda). Agreed Amy, don't eat if something is coming up ...

Re: Queen Gwen is resting with the Angels now

Everytime Gwen posted something or had an answer for someone I would see what she had to say first. She was a total comfort for us all and she will be so missed. Blessings of comfort to the family. Thank you for all the support, kindness, generosity over the years Gwen; why at times one would never ...

Re: gas+++

Thanks everyone...as always this is the greatest support group ever, even though I don't put in a lot of comments. My problems are nothing compared to a lot of you. I am not in active treatment. Have had 6 months chemo in early 2012 and wow, the gas issue was even more. However it has subsided somew...

Re: Dying Thread

Wow, Ashlee, thanks very much for bringing this to light. It can be such a taboo subject and yet it happens every day. I agree with you about 'pre-planning'. I have my will and a living will remade since I was diagnosed with CC. I came to the conclusion of a living will since I want my loved ones to...

pico salax

...just finished another colonoscopy and wondered how anyone handled pico salax ( Canadian name ), the oral purgative for clean out. This round was particularly tough because it did not seem to want to exit the stomach into the colon. It just seemed to sit there with the first round but eventually m...

Re: Sore toes on Xeloda?

...gotta laugh at yer question. I have had a lot of pain in my joints, both my feet and hands...sometimes major where I finally give in to a pain killer ( ibpufron) which helps me. I don't like taking pain killers because it bothers my stomach .... so its a toss up when it happens....I find it mostl...

Re: Bad Tasting Water

I tried all types of ways to stay hydrated when on xeloda and finally found the solution...bottled water, not tap water, and at room temp...that was it, but had to go through a lot of hoops to get to that solution while it was just staring me in the face...really weird. I have come across someone wh...
