Re: Signet Ring Cell Colon Cancer

Hi TMHRCH, I too was diagnosed with Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma. My cancer penetrated all walls of the colon and infected 12 lymph nodes. I was told this is a very aggressive form of colon cancer and grows faster than normal. The oncologist was prepared to fight Stage IV colon cancer. Strangely my PE...

Re: For Stage III's: NED for how long now?

I'm a stage 3C, Left side Sigmoid part of the colon with Signet Ring Cell carcinoma. My surgery was in August 2012 and I lost 12 lymph nodes during the surgery. So far five years out from the surgery I'm doing okay.

Re: Question re maintenance following cessation of chemo

I'm also a 3C staged Colon cancer survivor. My Oncologist scheduled a CT scan every six months for the first three years post chemo with blood work every 3 months. Now it's CT scan every three years unless current blood work indicated follow up CT scan.

Re: OT Metformin Side Effects?

Type 2 diabetic here. I've been taking 2000mg of Metformin for nine years without experiencing any side effects. As someone else has pointed out you take Metformin with food.

Thanks

Re: Has anyone been on DEXAMETHASONE more than 5 months ??

Re: question about post treatment scans

I completed my chemo treatment in March 2013. Since that time I have blood work every three months and a CT scan every six months. At some point if I remain in remission this schedule should change.

Re: Metformin

My Glucose levels surged when I started chemo due to a steroid that was administered for approximately 20 minutes each session. The steroid "Dexamethasone" caused my glucose levels to elevate to where I was seeing blood sugar numbers of 300 to 400 plus. The metformin along with other pills...
