Re: On surgeon's advice, going to try the - gulp - daily ene

I would definitely give the enemas a try. It doesn't sound like the most appealing thing, but if you can get some control and predictability out of it then it seems worth it. Maybe try it first on your days off to see how the timing goes and how the rest of the day is. I'm not speaking from first-ha...

Symptoms after Folfox

Hi all, I finished 12 rounds of Folfox about 5 weeks ago. My neuropathy didn't really kick in until after my last treatment and has gotten worse the more I work. I work in a pharmacy so I am constantly using my hands as quickly as I can, as well as being on my feet for 8 hours. By the end of the day...

Re: F*ing tired of being strong...

YES! So true. Sometimes I'm amazed at how little people know what we go through. I have someone who is very dear to me but pesters me about going to parties or going out. Really?? Yes alcohol and bad food are exactly what I need to feel better! (Sarcastic tone). Then there's my husband who I think i...

Re: Hiney questions

Been there unfortunately! The best thing for it is witch hazel pads, AKA Tucks to clean (dab). Then a warm bath with lots of epsom salts. I did that as often as needed and as soon as the diarrhea was gone, so was the pain.

Re: On Folfox, having trouble going to work

Thank you so much everyone for your stories and support. I don't feel like a wimp now and am taking steps to take better care of myself. I even exercised today! But it was cut short when my husband and I were trying to round up an escaped peacock and I stepped on a rusty nail. Now it's even harder t...

On Folfox, having trouble going to work

I've read at least 2 posts of people who are working full time while on Folfox. How is it possible? I'm only on second round and have returned to work half time, but I had to call in ill due to cramping, diarrhea, fatigue, nausea.....etc. I work in a pharmacy so I am standing the whole time, I can't...

Re: First chemo tx

Thanks Jen-32 and Elise! Lara, I think it varies depending on where you're being treated. I am able to use my phone, but not sure about internet. I'm on folfox and once everything is in place and ready, it's a 2 hour infusion, but I was there for almost four hours today.(2nd round) They clean and re...

First chemo tx

Just had first round of Folfox yesterday, now on 46 hour 5-Fu pump. Everything went great, got a little nauseous at the end of infusion and I felt very tired and icky the rest of the day. I woke up day 2 feeling pretty darn normal!! The coldness neuropathy is weird!!(When i touch or drink cold thing...
