Re: BrownBagger ....... I don't know what to say

So far I've read words like 'remarkable' and 'the real deal'. I couldn't agree more. I did not have a close relationship with Eric but I was always glad to see a post from him and admired his ability to live his life, cancer be damned. I do not know how he became the incredible person that he was bu...

Re: RIP beautiful Cherie :(

Oh I hate cancer. I can only offer my condolences to those she leaves behind. Her posts here were always memorable. I did not know her well but she always came across as such an honest voice and such a beautiful person in every way. This is just a damn shame.

Re: Colonoscopy next week..canceled previous two

I'm posting because reading this makes me feel so scared that you WILL cancel. Please don't! I was terrified of my first one too. Really terrified. And it's all true, the prep is no fun, the rest is no problem. Please just have it done. You are a mother. Do it for your little one. Please.

Re: HELP please...Question for those that have had hernia surgery

Saw my surgeon this afternoon. He is sending me for a CT, not sure when. He thinks it is one of three things....severe inflammation (hope), or I have ripped a suture or tack out of the muscle (VERY painful....will take time to heal) or recurrence of another hernia (worst case). He said it was nothi...

Re: HELP please...Question for those that have had hernia surgery

So I am on week 10 from a complex hernia repair surgery - 5 incisional hernias repaired - open AND lapro done. 10 inch incision (reopened) Large (8x10) mesh placed. My concern - starting yesterday I have had a wicked burning pain where I am guessing a corner of the mesh is tacked. EVen through the ...

Re: How much Miralax & Dulcolax for prep?

Thanks all for your responses! I went with 4 Dulcolax around 1pm and started the 238 Miralax with Gatorade around 4. I was pronounced well prepared post colonoscopy Monday morning. There are certainly LOTS of different methods for prep out there. Found two polyps, should get results on those in the ...

What a beautiful lady. I did not know her well but read many of her posts and she was always a lady. I am so very sorry to hear this and will be thinking of her family.

Re: Almost 4 yeras out, concerned re rectal recurrence

Green stool (if memory serves me correctly) happens when the fecal matter moves through the digestive system too quickly. It can be accompanied by diarrhea but, when I've had it, it is usually uncomfortable and gassy. Best you see your doc, but the green stuff isn't generally associated with rectal...

Re: Almost 4 yeras out, concerned re rectal recurrence

Also pouches can and do scar, stiffen and/or prolapse. That's what happened to me. I was almost completely obstructed. Diagnosed with a defecating proctogram. Thanks, Jachut. Did you have discomfort/pain with the pouch issues? Did they repair it or is that possible? Sorry, I should have looked at y...

Re: Almost 4 yeras out, concerned re rectal recurrence

Hmm... I think there is something wrong with your billiary system - gallbladder, or liver ducts... the green thing... MRI would help to see what is going on in that area... I do not think it is rectal cancer related. Hang in, hugs, Vilca Pls, let us know later. Thanks Vilca. My gallbladder has been...

Almost 4 years out, concerned re rectal recurrence

Hello all, I need some help. As you can see from my signature, I'm almost 4 year out from 111B rectal cancer. Last colonoscopy was in early fall of 2015. (my surgeon's schedule). For the past month or so, I 've been experiencing a change in my 'new normal' bowel habits (I have a j pouch) in that I'v...

Re: How much Miralax & Dulcolax for prep?

I took the 4 Dulcolax at noon. Divide your Miralax and Gatorade (best option) into two doses. Very important to have a second dose! I did one at 6 pm and one between midnight and 1AM. Last dose should be 4-6 hours before scope.. Nothing by mouth after that. Good luck. Thanks for the info AND the go...

How much Miralax & Dulcolax for prep?

Having a colonoscopy with a new doc on short notice. They called in the pricey stuff which I will not be buying. Did a quick search online to find instructions and I'm curious.....I am finding instructions to take 4 Dulcolax and to mix 510 grams of Miralax with liquid (Gatorade for me). I believe I ...
