Maia Is this for only Kras Wild type ? My wife is Kras Mutant. . It is thought to work at least for some MSS, independently of KRAS status, BUT in the original small study the results were seen mainly in KRAS MUTANT patients: Clinical activity and safety of cobimetinib (cobi) and atezolizumab in co...

Update #2: It has been 2 weeks since the start of the new regimen. Today's X-ray showed slight decrease of shadowy area in both lungs. Our onc said it's a very positive and miraculous response considering we are only 2 weeks in! (...) I may post another update after further scans tomorrow. Those ar...

Our friend dudette (Temi) has departed

I'm very sorry to bring such sad news. She passed away past July 20th. Temi ( dudette ) was a young, sassy and kind woman, living in Germany, who loved traveling, the sea, dogs... life. We emailed less in the last times I was already missing her so much... Temi, I will remember your spirit and our w...

Re: Rectal cancer (Stage 3A) diagnosed late June 2017

I've seen the technological progress on the war on cancer and intellectually understand that surviving five or ten years could bring cures or vaccines to various kinds of cancer. I'd love it if there were targeted treatments for colorectal cancer but these seem to be developed for other kinds of ca...

Re: Laser for lung mets

Hi, Angela. Several fellows had laser assisted lung surgery in Germany/ UK. Carm, Mastan, that I remember right now... it bought them some time but sadly they had recurrences. Happily, our mate Sophy had it done also, and she's following with experimental ADAPT protocol to prevent recurrence. She is...

Re: I heart FOLFOX

Basil, that is so good to hear!!
I think this is exactly what chemotherapy is for, to achieve this kind of response. So happy to hear the lung thing is just that, one of those lung things that we have here and there, popping up in images : )
Here, to a great resection, soon!

Re: I need a little hope

pdp497 , I'm so glad to hear that. You'll have many options at MD Anderson. If you are willing to, you also could participate there right away in some clinical trial based on immunotherapy, instead of chemotherapy --IF resection wouldn't be possible, something that I doubt. You also have great immu...

Re: New Direction??

Hi, justbreathe . Sorry your husband is facing this --and you too. If you don't mind, where are you, in which state? Of all the two consults you have made, which one was the more important centre you went? Do you know if the doctors have ran any genetic testing over the tumor --things like KRAS, BRA...

Re: I need a little hope

pdp497, you have every reason to be hopeful. New treatments for metastatic colon cancer are coming out as we speak. The standard of care changes in terms of months, by now. So, be careful with what you read online, even in this forum, because it might be outdated!! Going to MD Anderson for a consult...

Hi Dimple, Sorry for the reason you are here. Have you searched in the Late Stage MSS-CRC CURATED Trial Finder? http://trialfinder.fightcrc.org/ LMighty, Dimple is a member of the MSS CLINIC group, so she has been pointed to that clinical trial finder by now :) Hi, Dimple, I'm Maia from that other ...

Re: Does anyone on here self pay for Keytruda?

I'm baffled that insurance won't cover Keytruda for NSCLC. His biomarker test showed between a 1-49% chance of Keytruda working. Insurance wont cover it His case would be second line, after platinum-based therapy failure: Keytruda is approved for that case even when patients have as little as PD-L1 ...
