Re: Bleeding after a colonoscopy?

Thanks for your reply! I survived the night with no further bleeding. However, when I had a BM this morning, there was still some blood - though not as much as yesterday. Yes, I have my husband and adult son here if I should need help. Now I am waiting for the GI doctor's office to open, to give him...

Bleeding after a colonoscopy?

Anyone had bleeding after a colonoscopy - not related to a bowel movement? When I had my first colonoscopy, about a week later, I had bleeding with a couple of BMs, but nothing in between, and it stopped. This time, I was in the store, shopping, when I spontaneously started bleeding. I went home, an...

Re: Not sure if I belong here...

Thanks everyone, and especially OntarioGuy - it's good to hear from a fellow Canadian! I am just east of Toronto, and we recently had a Cancer Centre added onto our local hospital, so I know I can get the help needed close to home, if it becomes necessary. And having taken my mom many times to the C...

Re: Not sure if I belong here...

Can you just make an appointment with any doctor you want in the US, and get in quickly? I am in Canada, and as far as I know, I need a referral to see a new doctor, and it can take 3-6 months (or even longer - I am still waiting two years later for an appointment with one specialist! ) to see a spe...

Re: Not sure if I belong here...

Thanks so much for all your thoughts are ideas. I am reading everything that is posted, following the links and doing some research myself. I really appreciate it all! As scary as it sounds, Lynch Syndrome does fit - we have 4 generations of cancer! My grandfather (my mom's father) died of lung canc...

Re: Not sure if I belong here...

Thanks to both of you for your replies! Yes, I've been to the gyne, and I am 58 years old. The pain is no worse than before the colonoscopy, I really don't think they would listen to me if I went to the ER, based on past experience. They usually just tell you to see your doctor unless you are having...

Not sure if I belong here...

Here is my story: Last January I had my first colonoscopy, and they found tons of polpys, removing some of them, one of them was huge, and pre-cancerous. He showed me a video of my colon, and even I could see the difference between the ones that were just polyps and this huge ugly molted looking one...
