Re: chemo-brain cognition testing?

Great subject on "chemo brain" I just thought it was me being lazy. I have been depending on spell check and notes for my short term memory, long term seems to be somewhat OK. One of my fellow workers uses the following recording pens for our fast and furious meetings, and I am on a quest ...

Re: Port Install & First Round of Chemo

Welcome to the forum, this is home for my thoughts, questions and observations. My oncologist thinks highly of this forum and the knowledge gained from it. I kept a diary for the 9 rounds of chemo and really there was no change from chemo to chemo other than side effects moving day to day. My hardes...

Re: Just Diagnosed - what would you do?

Pete, My wonderful wife and I have had so many close friends with cancer. Their advice and this forum made most of my medical choices easy. I turned my attention to the future of my family, and only look back now, wishing no one ever had to subscribe to this forum. The major benefit I attained here ...

Re: 10 months in, what I would have done differently

Great article, I come from along line of holistic practice followers. Being who I am I followed the the standard approach after watching my mother fall for every holistic quack out there, promising to extend her life. I once asked my doctor if I could meet the rats used in the 1957 study of 5FU. Luc...

Re: Swallowing difficulty before chemo infusion

I am on my 7th treatment and the mouth sores get worse each time, with a sore throat included. It tends to hit me at different times. I take treatments every two weeks and have had the mouth effect become bad for few days any where in that time span. The common cold does not help, I just got over on...

Colonoscopy Women vs Men alarming

At my work place I have had the opportunity to talk with many of my coworkers female and male about my cancer. It is disturbing that most of the females have breast cancer check ups on a regular basis but have never thought of having a colonoscopy. They think its male thing. Even my wife had never c...

Re: How long in the hospital?

I originally posted this comment on AudreyM's "take to the hospital" thread but realized that I would be better off to post it as a new question. So: I'll find out from the surgeon next Friday when my surgery will be (lap. right hemicolectomy, or so I've been told by my GI doc), but I'm p...

Re: chemo and shooting stars

Julie, So cool, your post sent chills thru me. I am a star gazer myself and with our typical Louisiana weather the clouds have played havoc on me. First night out of chemo for me and I walked out side and there was “Orion” my favorite constellation. After reading your post it put a smile on my face ...
