Re: BrownBagger ....... I don't know what to say

I too only check in anymore every month or so, busy with life which is kind of the whole point behind treatment, but I have always enjoyed Brownbagger's posts and over all decency.

Crap, the world will be a darker place.

Re: Fatigue as a sole indicator of recurrence?

Have you done a sleep study? Try to get your primary care to refer you for one. They diagnosed me with apnea and I am on a CPAP and it has made a world of difference. Don't get too focused on cancer as the cause of all your health problems, time still marches on and all the normal decrepitude that c...

Re: Lung thingys

Glad I could help, but I have never "accepted" the rollercoaster ride just gotten used to it to the point that the loops, twirls, and sudden drops don't make me throw up every time I go through them. Also, every year waiting for my test results is rough. To the point that I just tell the p...

Re: Lung thingys

I am afraid it is not unusual to have the hide and seek lung thingy. I have been having this experience for eight years now. Yes, it is no fun at all, and NO it does not get any easier as time goes by. However, there is just not much to do about it. I don't know if this will help or not, but now tha...

Seven years NED this week

Well folks thought I would drop by and check in and say I am still here. All you people that are just diagnosed I am proof you can come out the other side of this thing and I assure you NOBODY thought I would be seeing 2017 when I was diagnosed in 2009. Take it from me, being stopped in the halls of...

Re: Newly Diagnosed wife - Stage 4 w Liver Mets

I think you have a good handle on things certainly find a "Surgical Oncologist" or two one for the liver on for the colon, but if your wife is blocking they should be able to put in a colostomy which will likely make her feel much better then you she go through treatment. They did this for...

Re: Question for those who know about peri mets

Well Jay good to see you're still around. While I haven't had peritoneal mets myself I have never run into anyone who has had pain associated with peri mets. That makes sense as the peritoneum is just the membrane that lines the abdominal cavity. I would imagine any pain caused by them would be asso...

Re: Question on Port Placement

Glad you got it in I never had any pain with my port, but if you have a hairy chest I suggest you shave the area around the port as they will access it and slap a big piece of tape over the needle. When that tape comes off it can be rather painful.

Re: Wanting to start chemo ASAP

As someone who has been on this path for far longer than you Nomoretacos I suggest laying off Dr. Google. He will have you picking out your coffin five times a day if you let him. But for the record colon cancer is slow growing for the most part so a few weeks one way or another won't matter. I assu...

Re: Question on Port Placement

Man seven years of treatment with no port? That is just crazy. Had mine put in by an interventional radiologist under twilight sedation so yes did need a driver, but had no pain or bruising ever. I knew the radiologist and he is great at what he does, would take an IR over a surgeon any day as they ...

Re: CEA rise opinion

NZjay take heart, don't forget my tumor had also grown through my colon wall and attached itself to my stomach, wrapped around a rib and etc, and I am still here seven years after Dx. So far you are the only other survivor I have found with the same type of situation so we need to hang together and ...
