Menopause and other fun female stuff

Hi Everyone Anyone had fun with menopause since chemo? I was 39 when i started chemo but had an IUD so wasn't getting a period. Blood testing by my gynaecologist confirmed full blown menopause so we took the IUD out. Then a couple of months later i had the period from hell. Is it normal for ovaries ...

Re: Vitamins to take?

Hi Lisa I think you are a fellow Melburnite? Have you looked into the Gawler Institute? They run weekly programs in Hawthorn or residential programs in the Yarra Valley that focus on diet, meditation and other stuff that is outside of our standard medical programs. Their counsellors that run the pro...

Re: January Exercise & Weight Loss Thread

DBF - that is an awesome thing to sign up for. I really hope you win!!! Maybe not so much for the challenge, but one thing i would recommend for any new mum, let alone someone who has gone through what we have all gone through is the plank holds, to really help with your core strength. You can start...

Hi Debbi,

I am gutted to hear your update. Wish it was better. I figure you have had your fair share of bad news, so it must be time for things to turn your way. Thinking of you and keep us posted.

Re: Reversal Log: Experience,Problems, Q & A's

Good idea Michael. I have finally had some good progress. Recap is that I have no rectum and had my reversal late November 2012. I had a really hard time for months, going around 20 times a day, little unsatisfying pellets. As well as real pain, discomfort and plenty of gas. Followed by an obstructi...

Re: I love you all....Movie Review

Totally agree re the fault in our stars but was a bit reluctant to suggest a cancer book. It is definitely uplifting but also very sad, and my neuropathy from folfox kicked in big time to my eyes. Kind of cruel that crying feels like glass when you are a cancer patient having a sad day!

Re: I love you all....Movie Review

Cherie, can I crash your thread and add some lovely books to the time killing list. One of the lovely things I did last year whilst not working was to start a book group with 10 of the other mums from school. It's been very therapeutic on a number of levels and something I had been meaning to do for...

Re: I love you all....Movie Review

Excellent effort Cherie. All I could manage to focus on while I was on chemo was a shameful addiction to the real housewives of Orange County.......and I am not even from the OC, I am all the way over in Aus.
