Re: Post-scope diet?

So far, my PCP answered this by saying bland foods and omit fruits and veggies.

Re: Prep Question…

Also ten years ago when I had my first one, the surgery center provided their own ‘fuzzy socks’ for each patient to wear and then you take them home with you. The kinds with the sticky things on the bottom so you do not slide around. Well, they stopped doing that I do not know how long ago, but they...

Post-scope diet?

Hi, OK one more question here. I have messaged my doctor to ask this question too. I made a few mistakes on getting home from the scope this time. Do not eat cottage cheese is the main thing. After that, I have switched to simply having sliced turkey (never mind the ‘deli alert’ I heard about prior ...

Prep worked; scope done.

Hi, :D I noticed on another thread there was something about suggestions to avoid polyps … I had never heard of that before. The prep worked fine and the doctor said one small polyp was removed. I’ll follow up after biopsy but am relieved nothing further was found. I’d been due for this exam a year ...

Re: Prep Question…

I mixed the dose for the 32 oz in the morning and put it in the fridge. I hope this will be OK - it is so far an easy prep except for the difficulty in downing the stuff/nauseated from that but it’s a bit worrying that things seem a bit ‘less’ and ‘easier’ than 4 years ago so I will just hope that e...

Re: Prep Question…

Yes fortunately they lowered the screening age, right? To 45 now? Sounds like this was a total surprise then. Well things have been progressing (as it were) with prep results but maybe b/c I had so much GI stuff going on these past few days (going constantly) maybe there is less to ‘get rid of’ - wh...

Re: Prep Question…

N morgen, Thank you for responding and I just read your intro post - wow you’re dealing with so much. But this forum has really wonderful helpful people that is for sure, and that’s on many levels. Things just started up a bit for me. I had 2 polyps last time and one was more suspicious so I’ve been...

Re: Prep Question…

Thanks. The third dose I forgot to say is 32 oz and this one tonight is the 64 oz. Well … however long it takes, it’ll just have to take ….I’m also just surprised by how icky it is trying to drink this bit by bit. I thought it might be easier this time but it isn’t.

Prep Question…

Hi I am halfway (or more) through drinking the 64 oz of the Gatorade/Miralax prep but it seems more lengthy a process than I remember from four years ago. If I recall correctly, one has to start the elimination process even before finishing the mixture …. So far, nothing’s happening (but that could ...

Great. Best wishes on solving the rest and I suppose you don't need to fret about prep night for another 10 years or so, right?? :D

Re: Will they still do my colonoscopy?

Well, I'm not in a position to actually offer advice other than: DO talk to the doctor .... you can call the doctor on call this afternoon/this evening AND since I assume you will be prepping anyway you can also speak to the doctor just prior to the procedure with any and all concerns that you may h...

Re: Colonoscopy prep question

1. Leave a ms at dr office for them to call you explain when scope is. 2. Call the facility where the scope will be done and talk to an endoscopy nurse and let them know u r trying to check with your dr's office. 3. I can also personally recommend the efficacy of Miralax /Gatorade /Dulcolax. I know ...

Re: How young is too young for COLONOSCOPY

I too was going to mention FAP. I once met someone who told me a colonoscopy at a young age saved her life because some time in her pre teen years (I forgot her exact age - maybe 12-15) she had bleeding and was diagnosed with FAP and that was the first time I had heard of it. Of course it might be n...

Thank you.
Guess I could have done the same, but for some reason didn't. :)

A survivor information...?

I was just reading some messages I wrote back in 2012 and there was a 25 year plus CRC survivor I spoke with, Randy Henniger.
Anybody know which organization he's associated with? I can't remember. Thanks,
Deann
