Re: Starting Folfox on Monday

I had a hard time with FOLFOX :( Managed 5 rounds before the neuropathy started affecting my legs from the knees down. Some things I remember that I'm glad someone told me ahead of time... 1. after your infusion, my first few bites of food caused a huge cramp in my jaw. really painful. chew and spit...

Re: 14 year old boy with high grade dysplasia polyp

With the size of my tumours, it would have made sense that I had polyps starting between 16-18. I'm so glad he's had it removed. Personally I'd scope every year or two until there are a few clean then spread out to 3 years.

Re: New here and have diet questions

You can for sure but start with only a few new ingredients at once and in small quantities. I eat huge amounts of veggies everyday :)

Re: Laporascopic or open surgery for colon cancer

I've had both and for sure it was quicker to recover from lap than open. I was up walking quicker and for much longer distances. I returned to exercise much faster.

Re: It is a recurrence

Hi Annie (from Ottawa ON!) second opinions are tricky in Canada :( Easiest way I've found is to go to your GP and ask them to request it with the person you want to meet. Though I would start chemo while you're waiting. Several people here have had HIPEC and Steph had it in Toronto region. I'll see ...

Re: 38 with stage IV rectal cancer with spots on the lungs

Hello BJ3 :) I'm different but some of the same :) I was dx with stage 2 at age 30 then a reoccurrence to stage 4 with liver met at age 34. Personally I'd do chemo until you are a surgical candidate. If you don't wind up being a surgical candidate then check out HAI at MSK for sure. BUTT your best c...

Re: New member: Stage IV at 25 currently with Dr. K

Hey :) Saying hi! I was dx stage 2 at age 30 and stage 4 (liver met) at 32. resected and now NED at 34. I also did a ton of research when I had my reoccurrence. HAI vs surgery. USA vs my home in Canada. There are so many options. Personally I've learned a few things along the way. You've gotta trust...

Re: Rectal cancer spreads to elbow

Oh geez :/ if it helps at all, I've had a lot of issues with my bicep at the attachment to the elbow. Looks like its due to (1) all my bloodwork being done on one vein on that side which has created some adhesions. Physio has helped this. (2) my pec is always tight under my port. getting that loosen...

Re: Cyclical Fatigue

I get what you're saying. I do have low iron but even when addressed it doesn't solve the overall fatigue I have. For me, it cycles every day like this: 6:30am get up/shower/eat 9:00am BECOME USEFUL - walk dogs - do paperwork - clean house - go to the gym - run errands 3:00pm HALF USEFUL 4:00pm FADI...
