Re: Second parent diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer

I am so sorry and angry. This is truly a nightmare and tragically unfair. My own diagnosis made way for my thirty-ish year old children to be scoped with the hope of catching any cancer early and sparing their lives. So WTF, how is it that this has happened to your mom? Going forward, I do hope you’...

Re: Hand and foot syndrome

Try Vitamin B6 and there are plenty of previous posts to search for more information. It worked for me.

Re: Repeat Performance

Well, this is beyond disturbing news. I hate that this has happened to you after so many years. It is the nightmare we NEDers have. I’m interested in what your surveillance schedule was after the five year mark. CT frequency, in particular. CEA checked? I wish you the best and glad you’re taking adv...

Re: Lung and needle biopsy

I did not have a biopsy as it was so small (7mm) that a radiologist friend told me a biopsy might be inconclusive and a top notch thoracic surgeon was willing to remove it via VATS. I wanted it out rather than watching it. Pathology confirmed it was, indeed, a colon met. That’s just my story. Yours ...

Re: Any Stage IV currently in NEDville? Please share any advice or tips? P

Hi Love, I’m still here living a life without thinking about cancer every waking minute. And that took years. Read my signature for treatment details. I live in healthy moderation but always did really. Nothing extreme- an aspirin and Vit D most days, exercise most days, and occasional alcohol and r...

Re: CT Scan Just came in Liver Met (one)

Riki,

A treatment do-over for me would be to ask for IV fluids because I had much difficulty staying hydrated. It affected my fatigue level and I’m convinced IV fluids could’ve made life much better. Something to think about especially as a parent of young children

Re: CT Scan Just came in Liver Met (one)

Riki,

Both depressing and frightening news for sure but keep the faith because I had two big fat liver mets in 2010 and I’m doing well in 2017. A good outcome is possible.

Best to you,

Re: How long to followup Stage 4 ?

I hear ya! No more scans are being recommended for me but I see my onc for a followup next summer and can discuss more about any further surveillance. Bev, I hate that you have other complicated health issues but love hearing you've not had a colon cancer recurrence. You're one of the rock stars aro...

Re: Solitary Lung Met - Looking for Positive Experiences

That would me. "One and done". I like:) Next month will be six years since my 7mm solitary met removed by VATS. Read past posts for more details because I'm happy to say the memories are fading. I wish the same for you soon.
