The appointment with the oncologist went so much better than the surgeons. He is going to do chemo, Irinitecan with fluorouracil and folic acid, and Avastin. She will have this 3 days in a row every two weeks for 6 treatments. He doesnt want her to have the bowel resection done right now. He explain...

My mom is 61, she will be 62 in Dec. She has med controlled high blood pressure, arthritis and thats it. Mom had her colonoscopy biopsy on the mass in her colon Tuesday. The surgeon also removed 2 polyps. Afterwards he told us he wanted her to see an oncologist this Friday to see if the cancer was treatable. He said if they were she would have a bowel resection this coming Tuesday. Thank you I finally got to see a copy of moms radiology report today. It states there is a 3.5 cm mass at the junction of the descending colon and sigmoid colon. Its not where the small meets the large intestine like I was told. Does this make a difference in terms of how it can be treated?
