Re: Speaking of lungs.. Im in the hospital.. but not a biggi

Well the Dr is expecting the infection to clear up, although during this time I am feeling weird breathing. I guess the stuff in my lungs is thinning and trying to come out. Meanwhile realizing that yes a lung specialist is available to follow me as the chemo hopefully shrinks the lung nodules and s...

Re: Speaking of lungs.. Im in the hospital.. but not a biggi

Hey everyone, I am out of the hospital now. Back at home. I am actually really glad that this happened. Now I have met with a lung doctor at my local hospital that I like and he is helping me out. I meet with him next week. Meanwhile taking antibiotics for the rest of the week and changed around a f...

Speaking of lungs.. Im in the hospital.. but not a biggie

Hello everyone, Well this isnt the most serious situation, but somehow I wound up in the hospital for two nights (at least). thought I'd tell you about it. My chronic cough had gotten worse lately. I think my new chemo (stivarga) dries out my throat and was tickling. Well I started taking an inhaler...

Re: Pulmonary Radiation Fibrosis diagnosis

Hello Rob, Your post sparked me to take a better look at this. It seems that there is hope. It seems that over time the radiation induced pulmonary fibrosis can improve slowly over time. Can't say yes or no or how much, but here are some articles I found. You may have already seen these... http://jc...

Re: Is Avemar still used these days? What else?

Hi everyone,

This is very good,

I will add a few things like the curcumin. Just wondering what you think though. I will be starting taking Stivarga in two days. That will be the chemo for the next two months. Just wondering if it is OK to take the Ave and that. I guess so?!

Thanks

Is Avemar still used these days? What else?

Hello, Just wondering if anyone still is using the supplement Avemar, or Ave Ultra, these days as a supplement while they are using chemo. I am thinking about getting some but really have not done it since 2008 and things/opinions change.. http://www.avemarusa.com/what_is_aveultra.html I would also ...

Re: Blowing it off!

When I was first doing adjvunct chemo in 2007-8, I could only do 11 out of 12 rounds and wound up in the hospital because of the toxicities. Yes I felt the oxali but I guess my kidneys and liver were beginning to have issues and my weight had dropped. I pleaded to have that 12th round, but they woul...

Re: Brain mets -2nd round

Please consider if Laser Thermal Ablation is a possibility. Depending on how large the mets are, that might be a possibility.

Re: Advise needed re: chemo after surgery for rectal cancer

You know, People dont like to do chemo, but really I would just do it. The side effects are temporary and you can fully recover after a few months or less. It would be a good thing to do. I have been on chemo several times over the years now and it is doable, it can sideline you during the time, but...

Re: Pulmonary Radiation Fibrosis diagnosis

Hello, I also have or had Pulmonary Radiation Fibrosis. I think I still do. It shows up in scans still. I had chest and lung radiation back in May for 3-4 weeks. It was SBRT also, targeting different masses in the upper chest area and especially around where I had the upper 1/4 of my left lung surgi...

News from Traveler001 - disease progression - Regorafenib

Hello everyone, I am definitely in need of your advice. So, about two months have gone by without doing ay chemo, where I wasnt feeling well, a brain necrosis was discovered (caused by a previous gamma knife), treated, and now I am recovering. Traveler- laser ablation of brain issue went very well!

Hello everyone, I just wanted to post a good update. I was discharged from MD Anderson today after having laser thermal ablation of an area in my brain and everything came out very well just yesterday. From a previous Gamma Knife procedure in May, a MRI of the brain in December showed Radiation Indu...

Re: Severe rash please help!!!

I forgot more stuff.. Head and Shoulders shampoo for the scalp. because the skin problems can create skin fungus issues too. I also put some on my face, shoulders and back as well when I shower. Also Cereve bar soap. Dont use a soap that might dry out the skin or be perfumed. I decided to grow a bea...

Re: Severe rash please help!!!

Yes you have to go see a dermatologist. I was on a regimen of creams and pills for the rash. (please ignore the possible spelling probs) Doxycyclene pills, clindamyacin cream on the face, along with aveno sun block for babyies on the face. It has zinc in it which helps a lot to keep your skin barrie...
