I already posted this in reply to the requested prayers. I just thought that adding it as a new topic might increase the likelihood of it getting read. Thanks for the prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was diagnosed Dec. 2006 with stage IV colorectal cancer with 7 mets to the liver. I've been on c...

Thanks for the prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was diagnosed Dec. 2006 with stage IV colorectal cancer with 7 mets to the liver. I've been on chemo ever since. In Feb. my CEA was a 4. It went up to a 7 and then a 35 in a week and a half. I had a scan and it wasn't good. Everything had grown. Th...

Congratulations! I'm so happy for you. I haven't checked on here much after hearing about Susan's death. At the last doctor's appointment, he felt something. I really haven't felt great for several weeks. I have a scan tomorrow to figure everything out. Then a doctor's appointment on Friday. I'm lay...

The hell with statistics. Statistics say that I shouldn't even have this. No family history, no risk factors... So how can statistics say anything? Besides, only God knows the course of our lives. I've been on chemo for over a year now. Not exactly what I consider fun, yet I can still enjoy my toddl...

This is a great board. Unfortunately many young people. Yet at the same time, fortunate because it is a great support system and helps you you feel as though you're not so alone. At some point in the near future, you will be informed of the stage of the cancer. (Esentially, stage III means it spread...

Seeing all you've already been through, I see why you want to wait. I was given an extra few days or a week once and felt like I was on a vacation. Enjoy your time off, try to make the most of it (although somewhat hard with your recent surgery) and hopefully everything will fall in place (mentally)...

I was diagnosed on 12/28/06 and I had a colonoscopy on 1/3/07 to find the primary tumor. The doctors were voting as to whether to do chemo first or surgery. Because of the size of the tumor, surgery won and I had the tumor removed 1/4/07. Due to having chemo soon after, I also received a colostomy b...

During my second ultrasound, after an unsuccessful 19 week pregnancy, I told the tech that I had a weird feeling "here". 7 lesions were found on my liver. That led to a CT scan, a liver MRI and then a liver biopsy which confirmed the diagnosis. Within a week, I recieved a colonoscopy (which got stuc...

Another thought, social security does consider cancer a disability. If eligible, your kids automatically receive it as well. It goes into effect six months after disability began. From what I was told, terminal cases are usually pushed through the process a bit quicker, results are given in one mont...

On a few papers, I read that I had colon cancer and on one, it said rectal. I asked and was told it didn't really matter, it was all basically the same thing. Perhaps the location of the tumor can make it borderline. I wonder, if when a biopsy is given, the cells claim the same thing, hence colorect...

I too was wondering how it was going. Great job. Could you perhaps, copy the letter to a post? I'd like to reference it and send an e-mail to my local reps. In addition, I planned on informing friends and family members of the efforts and hoped one or two would jump aboard to harrass their local rep...

I saw the new post, and decided I wanted to e-mail my local reps, so I went back to see if I had ever finished reading the original post. Oops, I missed the last few; great ideas. Did anyone ever come up with the e-mail to send. I hate to admit it, but I'm not familiar with the Acts.

Last week a high school senior interviewed me for her senior project. She is doing it on prayers and positive stuff associated with people with cancer. She asked me how cancer has been a blessing. I was not offended because I've read several books about people saying just that. I do not feel like an...
