Traveler101 all over again?

I have waited for now to post and sorry if this rambles on. Scans this coming Saturday for neck and lungs. When I lost my job a couple of years ago, I had to go on Obamacare. My original onc did not participate so he referred me to another. I had to fight with the guy just to get the lower CT this y...

Re: Neuropathy question

Sorry, just about 5 years out from my last chemo. Still have a lot of pain in the feet, wet sock feeling, walking/balance issues, and peedles. Pins and needles. My hands don't hurt too much but a lot of difficulty with fine motor skills. Forget texting. After a year and a half, my onc said I was one...

Re: Melanoma and Colon Cancer

There are a couple of us two time losers on here but stage 0 is great. MOHs surgery resolved mine and now it's just 6 month check ups for that. I had my melanoma diagnosis before colon.
Good luck,

Re: Any recommendations on prevention diet

Eat what you want in moderation and enjoy life. Zephyr, not buying it. You were an extreme health nut and yet stage 1 in 09. Eating more grass got you stage 3 later? People need to stop concentrating on what caused it. We have genes that forgot how to multiply. Yes there are environmental factors bu...

Re: Questions for 5+ yr NED'ers (especially Stage 3 or higher)

I may be rare but 5 years NED. Played many sports and very active until family life and work hit hard in my 30's. Still no activity at all other than the 4-5 miles I walk a day at work. Eat nothing healthy at all unless 1% milk fits that category when I eat my devil dogs at night. Quit smoking for t...

Re: R.I.P Dad

Sorry to hear of his passing but glad it was so peaceful. That is a great picture and you are a wonderful daughter. Your dad lives on through you as I cannot believe how much you look like him.

Re: A different, but good, side-effected noted

It's good to be a half glass full kind of guy. There are a couple of more positives. I get a nice tan after 5 minutes of sun. I used to turn red and blister now the first nice day of spring and everyone asks where I went for vacation. Another, while getting treatment, my youngest came home from scho...

Re: The waiting...

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis but traditional medicine has really improved in the area of CRC. You can do things in conjunction with your onc but there won't be any replies to your question as those who only did alternative treatments are dead and can't answer you.
Good luck,

Re: Cancer Causes

I graduated valedictorian in high school and I used to be good at math and so were my genes. As time went by, both went downhill with division.

Try to relax until then. The prep is the worst part but not too bad. Hope all is well.

Re: Blood from my rectum/bloody stools - father diagnosed with colon cancer at 44

Sorry for your losses and the way you are feeling. To put your mind at ease, find a good gastroenterologist and demand a colonoscopy. The recommendation is for you to have one ten years before your parents were diagnosed so you are overdue. Stay away from google and get an appointment. Good luck, Al...

Re: Neuropathy

I used to get that while I was in active treatment but haven't experienced it since. Of course, my spine is messed up from my neck to my arse and I always have pain but not those electrical shocks anymore when looking down.
