Wow. I never had anything like that from my two broncoscopies. Insist on seeing the doctor. No sense in having that discomfort continue any longer. I hope you have relief soon.
I have CTs for lung nodules without the oral prep. The oral prep is for the GI tract. Holding the breath is standard procedure for chest CT s, i believe. I am instructed to hold mine every time. I do get the iv, though.
I have had two. The first time the dr. was unable to find the nodule since it was small. He told me prior to the procedure that the odds of him being able to find it were about 50/50. I decided to try. The second time, about a month later, the biopsy was completed successfully. I felt no discomfort ...
It does sound high. I am 5'10" 195 lbs. and I take only 3600 mg. per day, 1800 in the morning and again in the evening. I have some minor hand/foot and mouth issues from time to time. My onc asks about the side effects at every appt.
Immodium is the stuff next to the Pepto, etc. Read the active ingredients on a real Immodium bottle, then buy the generic, house brand. It will be a lot cheaper. Don't take the Immodium per the directions on the container. It won't be strong enough. My onc recommended 2 tablets every two hours (or f...
I have a peristomal hernia and have found that a 4" Nu-Hope hernia belt works wonders. I ordered mine from Edgepark, but I'm sure other ostomy supply sites have them or something similar.
Ann is right about the urine testing. I forgot to mention I have mine tested before each infusion. High protein is definitely a no-go. I have not had a problem yet, but I am right at the 11 cycle mark, so it may be coming.
I have been on Xeliri with Avastin since December, 2011. The Avastin causes some minor nasal bleeding, but no other bleeding issues. The nasal bleeding has only once resulted in what I would call a minor nosebleed, easily stopped with tissue. I was already on BP medication when I started and my BP h...
I have the infusion on Mondays (3 week cycle) and this seems to work well with the fatigue, which first hits on Friday or Saturday. The big D usually comes in the second week, but has occurred during the off week. Foot discomfort comes at the end of the off week as well and lasts for about 5 days. T...
I may be the exception, but I found FOLFOX easier than FOLFIRI, mainly due to diarrhea with FOLFIRI, but, realistically, neither has been particulary bad. i have been able to work full time with either one.
I also live alone with two cats and have been doing Xeliri with Avastin for lung mets for 7 months. I work full time and have no one to check on me. I do fine.
I had the same issues for the first 4 infusions, but for the last 2 I have had no sweating problems. Go figure. They did offer atropine, but it was not available, due to a shortage. When I had the problems, I asked for ice packs, which did help. I applied them to the back of my neck.
I've had two related to biopsy of lung nodules. Absolutely no big deal. They give a sedative and you are in a semi-sleep. I had two because the nodule was too small to access on the first one. The second one was successful (well, partially so, as the biopsy came back positive for cancer). I was actu...
