I have done my pain trial and had no side effects. I have to wait to see if my insurance will cover placement. I hope so since I have been in constant pain since rhe trial on Feb. 11th.Thanks for all thu excellent information.

Thank you for your responses and help. I have decided that I will get the pump. I cannot have the surgery until the Avastin has cleared my body. I am in so much pain. I hope the medication/pump works.

Hi everyone, I am exploring the option for a pump to be placed in my abdomen with catheters that would carry the med's to an area in my spine. I have cc in my bone that is in the sacrum. CEA was 386, then 356 two weeks ago and now it is 583 today. These were taken two weeks apart each time. Scan done in July says tumor in tailbone looks stable, no other spots noted. I need to make a decide if I should go on permanent disability. I have been on short term since March. I have been able to rest up between treatments which has been nice. My oncologist said the bolus was not that effective and removed it after first treatment. I had mouth sores after first infusion. They have now had to take away the 5 fu because they said that was causing the uncontrollable diarrhea that I was having. Last treatment 2 was ago I had no d just nausea....

I weigh 160 PDs so I hope this is enough of a reduction to help also. What problems do you have and are they controllable with the Immodium and Lomital? Thanks for the feedback. Do you get the rash? So far I have not with my first treatments.
