Cancer Anniversary

Hi Everyone! I haven't been here for a few months. I've missed the group. I wanted to share for those starting the journey. In 2011 I was dx with stage IV rectal cancer. It was a long journey but this group helped me so very much! I am now three years cancer free! Please don't give up hope and fight...

Feeling Sorry For Myself

It's been almost two years since my last chemo. I'm a two year, stage IV survivor.

Why do I feel depressed? I've always been happy go lucky. The glass was always full.

My neuropathy was behaving itself. Last two days I can barely walk.

Re: Neuropothy - Pain in the feet

I'm about 1 and 1/2 years out from my last folfox and my neuropathy is horrible. I take oxy for the pain. It's unbearable to walk and standing for any amount of time is out of the question.

Re: Neuropathy

Thank you!
I take oxycodone for the pain in my hip, legs and feet.
I tried some ibuprofen last night and today and my feet aren't as bad.
I see the pain doc on Wednesday but he just pushes drugs.

Re: Undiagnosed husband - lots of bleeding

Not knowing is the worst. I just couldn't get myself to see a doctor and I worried every waking hour that something was wrong. I rarely saw blood but I had a bowel movement every ten to fifteen minutes. My dx was stage IV rectal. The dx was almost a relief because at least I knew what was wrong, He ...

Hi All! In the last seven to ten days, it is all I can do to walk. The neuropathy in my feet is horrible. I've always had the neuropathy but it's beginning to scare me. Looking for advice or others with this experience. My last folfox was May 2012. I did ten out of twelve treatments. My next three m...

Re: SkiFletch 3.1 Online

You and many others have the same anxiety. It's extremely common! I have no fear of needles but no one sticks me more than twice. If they can't get the vein then someone else needs to try. It's your body and you don't have to allow them to make you into a pin cushion. Thrilled you have the port out ...

Re: Possible colon cancer?

Please get it checked out!
I was stage IV. My son who is 35 was having your symptons with lots of blood. He had a colonoscopy last week and thankfully they found nothing but hemrhoids.
Peace of mind is worth the time to get checked.
Wishing you good results.

Re: Sciatic nerve pain - Am I being stupid???

I have the same pain. My onc explained that the radiation can cause the muscle and nerves to intertwine causing the pain. He said even though I have sore and or tender spots as well that I can touch and feel the damage is much deeper. My radiation has been over one year and I am taking 15mg of oxyco...

Other than fatigue, the 5FU gave me no side effects. I only made ten folfox treatments also.
