Re: My CEA rise history.

My CEA has historically been on the high side, not as high as yours, but at 9 avg. I continue to be NED from a stage 4 diagnosis, 12 years. I’ve finally learned to not care about it unless it goes to 50+.

Re: Stage lll now stage IV, looking for guidance

Your husband’s situation sounds very much like mine. I’d definitely look into HAI treatment, hepatic arterial infusion, I had it done in NYC at Memorial Sloan Kettering, they’re the leaders in this treatment. They cured me, I’m 11 years out. I’m not sure if there’s a hospital in the Bay Area doing t...

Abnormal CEA, 11 years NED and it’s OK!

Haven’t posted in a while. But hoping to give some people hope. I’ve been cancer free for 11 years now, from a stage IV diagnosis. My cea has averaged around 8 in all that time, and that’s how it is. It was very stressful at times but I’ve finally accepted the fact that that’s a normal reading for m...

Re: Covid 19 vaccine

I’m part of the AstraZeneca vaccine trial. I asked my oncologist at MSK if there was any problem with this and he said no, and gave me the go ahead. Had the first shot, had some mild side effects the first 24 hours and that was it. Will be going for the second shot next week. Hopefully I got the vac...

Re: Covid 19 vaccine

I’ve been on and off this board for 10 years, and it has been very helpful and comforting to share our journeys, but this thread contains some of the worst comments I’ve ever seen. To question the integrity of Dr. Fauci and the racist China virus comment?! Ignorance and stupidity in full display.

Re: Does your Medtronic pump TICK?

I had the old school Codman pump, made no noise. I believe the later Medtronic has more gears and things. As long as it’s pumping the chemo you should be good!

Re: 10 years since diagnosed

Hi JC, pretty much this was my approach: In my research there are only three things readily available that have shown to be effective in keeping from recurring. VITAMIN D, ASPIRIN and PHYSICAL EXERCISE. This can be checked by doing a PUBMED or google scholar database search. Vitamin D blood levels h...

Re: Girlfriend wants to come to appointments

Do not feel guilty if you tell her not to come. You need to do YOU at this time in your life. My experience was that I did not want ANYONE around me during, treatments or after surgeries. It helped me and them in my opinion.

Re: Update (treatments & CEA)

Please look at Jack&Katies mommy’s post above. Keytruda might be a life-saving option for your case! I would DEMAND my oncologist look into it: “The FDA has approved the immunotherapy Keytruda for solid tumors with a tumor mutation burden of 10 or greater. This means that CRC patients with MSS t...
