I felt some nausea and had a metallic taste in my mouth for the first few days but nothing a little Zofran and lemon tea couldn't take care of. I was one of the lucky ones, I've had HIPEC twice and both times avoided the ICU and was home within 4 days.

I have had 2 HIPEC surgeries and I absolutely think it was worth it. It has given me more time with my two young children and hopefully new drugs are coming that will also give me some more options. Good luck to you and your family.

I feel your misery. Folfiri was not a friend to me either. It turned out the I was lacking the enzyme to break it down so I needed a much smaller dose than normally prescribed.
