Re: Depression

Thank you so much. I have an appointment on Friday with my oncologist. I worked 4 hours today and came home and slept for an hour. The last two days I have had crying spells for no apparent reason. I am just trying to look toward the future and getting past all this. The financial strain of all of t...

Depression

Have any of you had problems with unstable emotions on xeloda. Usually the first day on I cry all day for no reason. I am very irritable and become enraged easily. My emotions are a wreck and this is definately since starting the xeloda. I made a call to my oncologist office and the nurse said I wou...

Julie, thank you so very much!! That is exactly what I was looking to hear. I agree in that I am looking forward to feeling "normal" and not focusing on the cancer or treatment. Thanks for the encouragment. I got this!!!!!!

Working while on xeloda

I have been on Xeloda for 2 months now, I am 7 days on 7 days off. I tried going back to my retail job, during the holidays I might add, only to find I could not handle it. I am starting a new office job on Monday and hoping that it will be tolerable as I cannot afford to be off work any longer. My ...

Re: Stage 2 T3, 17 lymp. all clear, moderate differentials

Hey, good luck to you. I was in a very similar situation about a year and a half ago. I was a 45 year old stage 2a and underwent a 12 cycle FOLFOX regimen. After weighing the pros and cons post surgery I chose to do chemotherapy because being an ISTJ personality (which inclines me to being thorough...

Re: Stage 2 T3, 17 lymp. all clear, moderate differentials

Finally heard back from my oncologist today. The MSI tests were negative for the mismatched DNA seen in Lynche syndrome. This means that chemo would be beneficial so I am going to start on Xeloda. Meeting with the Oncologist tomorrow to go over dosage and possible side effects. I am ready to get sta...

Re: Constipation after resection

Bless, it's been almost 3 years for me and my whole morning revolves around making sure I have a bowel movement. (By the way.... chemo caused me to have awful constipation) Please find something else other than laxatives. Ron (forgot his username) has been cancer free for 13 years BUT he ruined his...

Constipation after resection

After being diagnosed with colon cancer I had 16 inches of my sigmoid colon removed October 3rd. It has been almost 4 weeks. I havent started chemo yet, but, I am constantly dealing with constipation. Shouldnt my body be working as normal by now? The only way I can get relief is to take a laxative w...

Re: colon cancer after effects

I had my surgery 3 weeks ago today 16 inches of sigmoid colon removed and resected. Havent started treatments yet, still unsure of what it will be. But here is my dilema. Re: Stage 2 T3, 17 lymp. all clear, moderate differentials

most likely my surgeon said to the liver. And what did he say to the liver? To clarify, my surgeon said, the type cancer that I had would most likely not return to the colon, but he would be more concerned that it would show up in my liver. The genetic testing from what I understand is to determine...

Re: Stage 2 T3, 17 lymp. all clear, moderate differentials

Thank you all so much for your input. Yes, I agree with all of you and ready to get started! I am suprised to see so many my age and younger with this cancer as I was told it was unusual and that alone added a risk factor of it returning. I will keep you all updated my new friends.

Stage 2 T3, 17 lymp. all clear, moderate differentials

I am 49 years old considered young for Colon Cancer. I was diagnosed Sept 19, had surgery Oct 3rd removed 16 inches of sigmoid with resection. The surgery went well and I am quickly recovering. I assumed that there would be treatment involved as per my surgeon who sent me to an oncologist. Apparentl...
