Re: Sore hands

I am 2.5 years post chemo (Folfox6), I still get numb feet and cold hands. I also get really sore knuckles. In the first year after chemo, I took Gabapentin, at some points in pretty big doses. It helped, but after a time I discovered it actually increased the sore joint problem. Recently, I've trie...

Re: Neuropathy - eye sight?

I have a little more trouble focusing these days. Could be I'm just getting old. I had a lot of balance problems after chemo ended. Had a couple of real bad falls. Wouldn't be surprised if balance troubles could effect your ability to focus quickly. Hopefully it will all diminish for you in time.

Re: Reacting to Folfox

Six months, all 12 rounds, and I didn't throw up once. I can only assume my doc and nurses really had the meds dialed in. If I recall, I had emend, aloxi, and decadron all by IV on infusion day. I also had a prescription for Zofran (odansetron). The nurses were all adamant that I should take the Zof...

Re: SkiFletch 3.1 Online

Congratulations! I wish I'd thought to ask for mine back. Don't know what I'd do with it but it would make for fun show & tell! I stayed awake when they took it out, my heart rate dropped so low the alarm kept going off and made the nurse a bit nervous. Ended up seeing a cardiologist over that o...

Re: It's On - update, results

Just stopped by to check in, guess I'm a week late. But, congratulations nonetheless! When I finally got a complete scope done I couldn't believe how much easier the prep went without 40+ cubic centimeters of tumor in the way. And, the non locals don't understand the magic that is Mighty Taco!

Re: Colon Cancer, stage 2

Stage 2a here. I did the chemo too. The numbers are a little hard to pin down for us. Number of lymph nodes matters (I had 30, all clear), more is better. Other risk factors? I had a t3 tumor large enough to cause a blockage and lymph/vascular invasion. The chemo may only buy you a 1-2% increased su...

Re: Folfox-Low blood counts

My counts varied some throughout FOLFOX . They dropped low enough to postpone only once. Somewhere around round 9 if I remember right. I also took a break for fatigue at about the halfway mark. Counts were a bit too low at round 12, but they allowed me to go ahead since it was my final time. My dosa...

Re: neuropathy

My neuropathy hit 2-3 weeks after chemo ended. A combination of loss of feeling, numbness, tingling, and pain in my hands and feet. I fell a couple of times in those first weeks, not fun. I'm taking gabapentin, which has noticeably reduced the problem, but not eliminated it. The neurologist also sugg...
