Re: Non cancer issues on scan

My final surgery was a hernia repair. It was large and was giving me problems. It was the easiest surgery but the longest recovery. Recovery wasnt hard per se but it took a long time to get back to normal activities. But I followed the advice of my surgeon to a T. It’s likely the hernia was caused b...

We are not doctors. We are colon cancer survivors or loved ones of survivors. We cannot give you advice one how often you should get colonoscopies. Follow the advice of your doctor or get a second opinion. Good luck.

No vaccine for me or my family. The vaccine has never been done this way before and the long term effects are unknown.

Re: Cancer scare/symtoms.

Every thing you have described is associated with ulcerative colitis which you know you have. When it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s just a duck.

Perhaps you need to address your anxiety about your health with your doctor. Good luck.

Re: Urinary issues after chemoradiation ?

My aunt had pelvic radiation for cervical cancer and it damaged her bladder. She lost her ability to fully empty her bladder and would ‘leak’ as her bladder filled and was no able to hold the urine. Eventually her kidneys failed and she was on dialysis the last 18 months of her life. I would get in ...

Re: O/T - surgery a few days ago, it hurts and need advice

My son had pins in his elbow when he broke it at the age of 6. He didn’t even flinch when the doctor pulled them out in the office after 8 weeks. They were really long too, like 6 inches.

Re: Nuelasta Injector

I would think they would agree to keep you out of any treatment center as much as possible. Everybody is trying to eliminate non essential visits to any medical facility. My husband would fill my prescriptions while I was in the chair and we took it home with us and put it in the fridge until I was ...

Re: Nuelasta Injector

I gave myself Nuelasta injections with a regular syringe and needle in the stomach. I would think it would be an option for you unless it has changed in the last 8 years since I did it. I got a prescription and filled at the hospital pharmacy. It came in prefilled syringes that I kept in the fridge....

Re: Stable Colon Cancer and Now New Uterine Cancer

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 18 months after my colon cancer diagnosis. It was frustrating in that the gyn oncologist is very compartmented. They only deal with female cancers so I still had to follow up with my regular oncologist. Treatment is very different for the female cancers. I did not...

Re: growing concerned about care

I think what you have described is typical for stage 4 treatment that is inoperable. This is a marathon, not a sprint so there is no reason to panic just yet. The fact that his cancer has only metastasized to the liver makes him a possible candidate for surgery if the liver Mets can be gotten under ...

Re: Does anyone NOT feel supported

In my 11 years on this board, the ONLY discoed I have seen on this board has involved mpbser. She has a history of not playing nice with folks on this board or the group on Facebook. Let us not make this post about her as it is exactly what she wants. To hijack some one else’s post to get attention ...
