Re: 2010 - In Memoriam

With an extraordinarily heavy heart, I have to add my father, Aziz B., to this list. He was diagnosed stage IV on December 22, 2009, and passed away March 1, 2010. His fight was too short and too tough. I miss him so much every single day. But his battle has led to numerous family members getting co...

Re: If you want prayer stop in here!

About 3 weeks ago, I posted a prayer request that my father not have a new tumor. Well, there were no new tumors. However, on March 1st, my father passed away. On February 24th, he had a follow-up oncology appointment. His blood work showed his kidneys were failing, so he was hospitalized. We were t...

Ascites Permanent Drain?

Hi all, My dad keeps getting fluid build up, which causes him to get short of breath and just fatigued beyond anything I've seen. He had the fluid drained last Friday and it's already built up again. He's on spironolactone (sp?) and Lasex but they're not helping much. His onc mentioned getting a per...

Re: How long to bounce back

I'm so glad you asked this question. My dad had his first round of Folfox (no Avastin yet; that will start in round 2 next Monday). His energy crashed last Thursday and he hasn't been able to get any of it back yet. Of course, he has ascites as well, which doesn't help. He already had it drained onc...

Re: If you want prayer stop in here!

Hi everyone. I read here more than I post but if it's okay, can I ask for a prayer on behalf of my dad? He's stage IV with innumberable liver mets. He had been swelling up quite a bit in his abdomen and legs. So his onc sent him to get an ultrasound on Friday. The good news: they drained almost 3 li...

Re: Colon Cancer and Low Blood Sugar

Thanks, guys! I have searched high and low online but couldn't find anything definitive on this issue so I was hoping someone else has had a similar problem. I think we may just have to consult another doc (internist, maybe). Thanks anyway!

Colon Cancer and Low Blood Sugar

This is my first topic/posting ont this website. My father was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer and "innumerable" liver mets Dec. 23, 2009. He had colon resection surgery Jan. 8 and will have a port put in tomorrow. Next Monday, he starts FOLFOX4 and Avastin. He is diabetic which leads...
