Colitis - after reversal

I just found out that after the cancer has gone into remission that I now have Colitis. Oh the joy! Has anyone else ended up with Colitis? My doctors don't seem to want to do anything about my situation - I was told to just watch the situation for the next 3 years. My head is just spinning about the...

Re: Recovery time from and experience with ileostomy reversal?

I had my reversal in November. I have to be honest with you - I am more depressed with having the reversal than the bag. I had majority of the rectum removed so the storage is not what I had before. Many accidents have occured since the reversal. I am slowly getting control. My doctor just suggested...

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I haven't had a period since I had surgery last January. I was told that the radiation put me into menopause. I haven't started the hot flashes yet, but since I am always cold - I can't wait.
Good luck

Terrible AB Pain - Is this Normal??

I had an ileostomy reversed on 11/29/07. I have stayed away from red meat, raw veggies, and fruits with skins. Here is my problem. I am having terrible ab pain right by my diaphragm, almost like a baby with colic. Is this normal? Is there anything you would suggest to relieve this pain? Will this pa...

Hi - I am 39 and gone through chemo..the doctors told me this would not affect the ability to have children. The bad news was that the radiation has basically killed my ovaries. So I am out of luck... If you have to have radiation, I would suggest that you either harvest some eggs for the future or ...

Bag Problems

I have read a couple of different threads about people having bag problems. I had a very difficult time the first few months after getting an illeostomy. I had to change the bag one day 18 times. (ouch) I had a very hard time with the paste and other products, either not sticking or burning my skin....

I got this side effect 2 weeks after my last chemo treatment. My last treatment was August 2, 2007; and still have the feelings in both my hands and feet. At first it really starts to hurt, but then I can feel things - like the bumps on the "J" and "F" keys on the key board. Someone suggested to me ...

I was actually awake for my scope - so i knew almost as soon as the doctor did. It was 2:27 on 11/22 - the day before Thanksgiving...Didn't want to ruin everyones holiday so I didn't tell anyone until the following Sunday.
