Re: HELP- I feel I cannot handle it anymore, feel dying

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time.I'm working on my 5th tumor, and it sounds like I'm doing better then you are.I think you should get an opinion from another doctor,or light a fire under this one.My first time with chemo, and radiation I lost 60 pounds.Right now this liver tumor is kicking my...

Hooray for your mom, when I hear a song I like I turn up my radio. If he didn't like the music he can put up his windows.

Re: Can I vent here?

When I was first diagnosed,I made the mistake of looking at all the stats because I did not know anything about cancer. That was in 2008.Since then I have found out that everyone is different. At first I became depressed, and didn't want to be around anyone or talk to anyone.I even stopped taking my me...

Re: Liver Resection Recovery Time

After my resection it took me about 2-3 months to get my energy back.I have had 3 surgeries, and have not done chemo after any of them.My liver resection was in 2012,and at that time the surgeon gave me 70% chance.Good luck, and I hope you have no more recurences.

Re: Depression

When I first started out I was looking at the stats, and getting depressed. Then I started reading the surviver stories, and found out that everyone is different. That helped a lot,so did the Zoloft, and Ativan.I quit taking the Ativan after 5 years, but still take the Zoloft. It helps. It also helps to get...

Re: How rough is the liver resection surgery...

I was in the hospital for 4 days, and back to work in 6 weeks with very little problems.Walking helps a lot.It took me awhile to get my hunger back.

Re: opiate withdrawl is a pain!!!

After my first surgery I was on the pills for about 4 months, and I quit cold turkey. It took about a month to get it all out of my body.I had trouble sleeping, and was itching a lot.But eventually I got over it.At the time I was told it would take about 10 days, but I guess everyone is different.Good l...

Re: RFA on liver - your experience

I had my liver done last year. The tumor was golf ball size, and the chemo I did was Avastin,5fu ,folfox, oxaliplatin, and it shrunk the tumor down level with the liver.I was in the hospital 3 days, went home on the 4th day.I worked the whole time I was on chemo, and off work 1 1/2 months.I had trouble wa...

Re: developing diabetes while on chemo

Metformin is not so bad ,I take metformin and glipizide every day.I just take them in the morning, then eat something.A friend of mine has to take metformin, and insulin every day. With the pills it's easy to travel, they don't have to be refrigerated. It's not a happy thing, but it could be worse.Good lu...

Re: developing diabetes while on chemo

I am diabetic, and when I did chemo I was given steroids with it and I had to be careful what I ate because it raised my blood sugar over 300.I got dizzy and could barely walk. This last time my sugar was so high I couldn't do an MRI before surgery.Good luck.

Re: HI- friend has CC

I think your friend is trying to be strong and not let anyone know when he is feeling bad so they don't worry. But he should let his spouse know what is going on so if she finds out if it is bad she won't panic. He needs support and should try and get it because it will help a lot. When I did radiation...
