Re: Just diagnosed with rectal cancer and terrified

Hello and welcome to the forum. You are facing the hardest time of this challenge right now--you know it's something not good, but can have no realistic expectation of what it will be. Waiting is awful. All you can really do is buckle up for now. Don't have any expectations for yourself right now. D...

Re: Stomach or colon cancer.

Your anemia explains your low blood pressure, fatigue and possibly shortness of breath. As far as your other concerns, you could check in with a gastroenterologist. No one here could possibly tell you what, if anything, is wrong with you. Nor would it be possible to go over everything that might exp...

Re: doctor in Cincinnati

Hi All, I was just diagnoised with a 5 cm cancer mass in the sigmoid colon. CT scan tomorrow. Totally stressed and not impressed with the doctor that did colonoscopy. Any ohio recomendations? I am in Cincinnati. Also can you tell anything about stage of cancer from mass size or symptoms. I feel tot...

Re: 6 months of symptoms - colonoscopy or counselor?

I think the chance that you have cancer, particularly metastatic cancer, is next to NONE. I have about 10 reasons for this opinion, but you've already heard several of them. Have you had issues with any health anxiety in your life? The fears that go with that are huge, and hearing "it's probabl...

Re: Occurence of CRC after negative colonoscopy

Why would you think he has colon cancer? He has a recent negative colonoscopy. He farts a lot at night? I think you may be barking up the wrong tree. Good luck.

Re: 12 Weeks after Resection + CDiff = Still Poor Diet?? When will it return?

Did you get a full dose of Flagyll? My son got c-dif during a prolonged hospital stay and if seems like it took forever to get rid of it. Eventually it resolved. We had to take stools samples in to the lab for a number of weeks. If they have checked your stool and it's still there, I would ask for a...

Re: Chemotherapy Journey

Take care, glad you got checked, at the very least for your peace of mind! I get the neulasta shot. I call it the new nasty shot. It really makes my bones and jaw hurts, gives me a pounding headache. DR told me to take ativan and oxicodone for 3 days and try to sleep it off. And...get someone to dr...

Re: No confirming diagnosis

Hello, and welcome to the Colon Club. I can't believe you're going through this. FOLFOX is composed of very tough drugs (as you've found out) and to put you on that without absolute evidence you have colon cancer seems extreme to me. I have stage IV colon cancer and my husband had stage III lymphoma...

Re: Inconclusive Biopsy

Personally, I lean towards the recommendation of your medical team to undergo the lobectomy. A false positive occurs when the biopsy draws a core of healthy cells from a nodule that is otherwise infiltrated with cancer cells. A core biopsy is only as accurate as the sample of tissue drawn and extra...

Re: New member here

Hello and welcome to the Forum. I'm sorry your dad (and you) are going through this stressful and scary time. IMHO I think waiting until 12/7 for the meeting with the doc to get scan and biopsy results is entirely and inexcusably too long. I would encourage you to call the office and get the appoint...

Re: New to this thing called colon cancer

Hello and welcome to the board. I had colon, not rectal, cancer so I can't really speak to your question regarding residual length of your rectum. I can reassure you though that there are many folks on this forum who have/had rectal cancer so you will have plenty of people to get advice and support ...

Hi Betsy, I was diagnosed in 19/09 with a single large liver met inc caudate lobe. I had liver resection in 4/10. Then chemo, scan after scan after scan until I was 5 years NED.
