Re: Washington DC area referrals

I was treated in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins. I have had three surgeons (colon, liver and lung) and several oncologists. I love the doctors and nurses in the Weinburg Cancer Center there. I have nothing but good things to say about me experience there. You can part in the basement of the building and...

Re: Another Lung Thang!

Eric, I'm late to the ball once again and unfortunately this isn't the ball I wanted to attend. I am so very sorry you are having these troubles. You're an excellent fighter and survivor, so I'm pinning my hopes on you once again. I'm 20 miles from Johns Hopkins and have a couple of extra bedrooms f...

I'm doing the hip hop happy dance

Greetings all - I wanted to come out from lurking behind the scenes and share my most recent good news with all of you. I just had a colonoscopy and 6 month CAT scan with accompanying blood work. The results are in and I am happy to report that there is no sign of cancer in my body. My CEA is the lo...

I have this sign hanging in my bathroom by my sink -

Live your life in such a way, that when your feet hit the floor in the morning, the devil says 'Oh, hell ... She's awake'.

Re: Can you live with pain forever?

Helen, I hope Jaynee will chime in here because she gave me some good ideas about dealing with the neuropathy pain. One of her suggestions was that she uses lidoderm patches on her feet. So, I put the lidoderm patches on my feet. Wow!!! It helps immensely!! I turned my 74 year old father on to it al...

Re: Another Starbuck Update - Not good

As I type this I have tears in my eyes. I hadn't been on a lot lately, but I had seen the email that things were not that good. I was dumb struck when I read this email chain. My most deepest sympathies for your loss and to your family.
Best regards - G

Re: What causes the lack of appetite and hair loss?

Sarah, It's the 5FU that is causing you the hair issue. I first had 6 months of 5FU in 2005. My hair, which is fine, but very thick, thinned a little bit. I noticed more in the brush than usual, but no one else noticed anything. The second time I did 5FU in 2008, I had some real serious hair thinnin...
