Re: Why Am I Still Here???

Thanks guys. I was just having a little pity party. Don't do that often but when I do its because I'm really down. I know you guys understand it well. This last 2 months have not been great. After the Nov scan I was on top of the world thinking I might have just beaten this thing. Then I end up in t...

Re: Port Removal

I used to dream about the day I would get mine removed. I hated it when I first got it. Now I'm so used to it that I hardly remember I have it in. Just as well since I don't think I will ever get it out. Congrats to you! Enjoy the freedom.

Why Am I Still Here???

Many don't know me because I've had this crap now for 8.5 years. I was a regular on the forum for the first three years and then I slowly got away from it. Every year I would update on my anniversary. The last two years I didn't even do that because I was in treatment. Well here I am again. I was sc...

Re: Shingles question

I had wanted to get my shot but haven't been NED long enough to get it. I was told that I couldn't have it because I was on chemo and needed to wait at least 6 months before it could get it after chemo. They did tell me that it is only about 50 % effective but I just didn't want the pain associated ...

This is insane!

My last txt was the worst one yet. I couldn't even get out of bed except to use the bathroom. Nausea is so bad I just want to throw up but I can't. Headaches and muscle and joint pain are severe. Rectal pain is beyond what I can handle. Called the Dr. and said I won't do any more until they can figu...

Re: Scan Results

Well I did get some good news. It's not as bad as I thought. The main tumor has shrunk but not by much. The things that showed no improvement they don't even think is cancer. BUT he did bring up chemo for life. I asked him if that meant forever and he said forever is a long time, we will see. With t...

Scan Results

Well I got them in the mail yesterday. No new growths (yeah), but no change in the ones that are there either. Dang it anyway. I've been doing chemo now for 4.5 months and no changes. I'm suppose to have txt #9 in the morning. I can't keep going like this if it's not working. I've been putting up wi...

Re: Irinotecan dosage for Stage IV questions

So I am on Folfri with Avastin. My infusions are every 2 weeks for 4 hours with a pump for the next 48 hours. My Dr has told me that I could go 3 weeks in between infusions to help with the side effects if I wanted to. I chose to just get it over with and try and live with side effects. Don't know i...

Re: TXT #9 is done

Good to hear from you Bev. At this point I'm doing 12 txt, so only 3 more to go. I have a scan next week and I'm hoping for some good news. Last scan showed a little growth but Dr. said not to worry. Easy for him to say. So we will wait for the scan results and see what comes next. I can't keep doin...

Re: Your list. Help needed.

What I really dislike is when people tell me, "Well you don't look like you have cancer." How are you suppose to respond to a comment like that? But what I really dislike is "friends" just ignoring me because they don't know what to say to me. That hurts even worse.

TXT #9 is done

Had txt today and it was so much better than the last one! No anxiety attack and very mild nausea. Hoping it will stay this way. Maybe it has something to do with the weather 74 degrees and sunny today, unlike the last 3 months of rain, rain, rain.

MIA for to long

It’s been way to long of a time since I have even logged into my page I have thought about the reasons why I have not been on the board for a while and I could only think of 2 reasons. No I wasn’t mad, even when the board would get hot. I’d just ignore it until it cooled down, that is unless they ba...

Re: Will I ever stop thinking about cancer?

Dawn looking at your signature it has only been 5 months since your surgery. No wonder you still have it on your mind. Cancer is cancer, your stage II might be different from my stage IV but it is still cancer! Your whole world has changed in the last 5 months. Give yourself sometime. It does get be...

Re: An apology

Absolutely no apology necessary! You can't be sorry for something that you did not mean. The internet lets people take things that are said out of context from how it was meant. That can cause all sorts of trouble. Just be the crazy, funny insane guy that you are. Help us all get through this CANCER...

I don't know what all the fuss is about and I really don't care either. Yes this is America where you are free to say anything that you want. Even if it is offensive to others. I have thick skin and can just close out a topic that is offensive to me but many don't. That's why we have moderators. But...
