Tim passed away

I am very sorry to let you know that Tim passed away earlier today. He passed away according to his wishes, at the hospice facility with only immediate family with him. The kids are amazing, both spent a considerable amount of time with him at hospice and saw him this morning before he died. They bo...

Moving to hospice

I know many of you have been thinking of and praying for Tim lately. I know there has not been much information lately and wanted to give you a quick update, as he considers so many people on this forum his friends. As you know, he has been on hospice at home for the last month plus. During that tim...

Re: Delusions, holding on.

Tim, it's so good to see you posting. I will pray that the blockage continues to get better. I think of you often. Sending prayers and good thoughts your way. Yeah I'm basically under control as far pain goes, and it just seems like like DCA has shrunk or tamed the primary tumor, which is what cont...

Re: Delusions, holding on.

I've been thinking about you often. I even posted on FB yesterday asking if anyone had heard from you. Thank you for taking this time to post. I'm so happy the blockage is gone. As Gaelen said, it sounds like your still unable to eat. Sometimes when you don't eat for such a long time it's hard to s...

Re: Delusions, holding on.

Tim, I'm gathering that even though you suspect that the DCA has resolved the blockages, you are still unable to eat anything. Is your pain otherwise mostly under control? My strongest thoughts to you and your family...nothing about this is ever easy. No I believe the blockages may currently vresov...

Delusions, holding on.

Its been at least two months since I was told to give up treatment and lay back with unit pain control. They sent me with an iv pump so I could get fluids and now I'll have to decide when to quit the fluids that are keeping me alive. The level was turned slightly yesterday and I'm goin to have that ...

Re: Tim, do you feel like giving us an update on how you are

Believe it or not I'm still kicking. Still mostly living on iv fluids, decadron and I just wonder if this dca is helpful. I seem to be able to eat today, having passed stools and gas. . I had an ensure and went out for Italian with the family. My weight is down 60# from normal and I look absolutely ...

Re: Cancer has destroyed my business

Well, I did succeed in selling the business last week, but I am spending my last days and weeks stressed about transitioning. It's not a microbusinuess and just dropping it on the new owner is stressful. I basically had to give it away.

Re: Cancer has destroyed my business

I'm really struggling with the issues of my business at this point too. I've got an established small business, but what happens when the head of the business is not going to make it? How do you shut that down in an orderly basis?

It's really a major stressor on me at a time when I don't need it.

So nice to have a good caregiver

I just want to post a note to the caregivers and let you know that you don't go unnoticed by the patient. My wife has really transformed into my caregiver and I think it's so sweet. Waking up at midnight to have someone mixing up a new iv batch of drugs (zofran and decadron) and battling her own fat...

Re: A question about a rise in CEA numbers

Just wondering if a rise in CEA numbers can cause you to become much more tired throughout the day and especially at the end of the day towards bedtime? First, you shouldn't be overly concerned by a single rise. A series of rises would be a red flag. I've never of heard of cea itself causing the fa...

Re: building up confidence...

There are other things to look at besides lymph node code, like poor differentiation, mucinous, etc. All these things can add up to hurt your chances. There are also some things to do that can help, like daily exercise and an aspirin a day. I did it all and my cancer still came back, just two many n...

Re: Tim, do you feel like giving us an update on how you are

I'm not going to be posting much and people should probably understand that. I joined hospice last friday as my situation is that, other than today, I haven't eaten in weeks. Everything I eat comes back up and there isn't anything to be done about it. As a last-ditch effort, I restarted taking my DC...

Re: Newbie, 3c or 4?

Hello, I was recently diagnosed with CC. I had only one episode of bleeding that led me to primary dr. who scheduled a colonoscopy. Long story short: like many, I awoke from that procedure to "You have colon cancer." I had right hemicolectomy 3 weeks ago, went back to work after 1 week. L...
