TWELVE YEARS NED AFTER STAGE 4

Hi friends, just dropping in to say this month will mark 12 years since my liver resection at Johns Hopkins. That day I went from Stage 4 cc patient to NEDville. If you're in the mood, celebrate with me!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Hi everybody, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer (sigmoid colon with liver met) at age 58. Was clear at age 59.
Tomorrow I will turn 70!
I can not tell you how grateful I am.
I'm still a strange ranger and my name is Amy Marash.

Opinions welcome: how old to test?

At what age should adult child of colon cancer survivor be tested?
I was dxd at age 58. My kids are in their 30s.
Opinions welcomed.
Thank you

Re: I'm still here! (cancerversary)

Yes I've been a guest on some radio programs and podcasts. I don't do that anymore because I'm blessedly out of touch. (don't jinx!) My husband is the radio professional in the family. He's on davemarash.com and some of you will remember him from his journalism career on tv. I'm on twitter @canceris...

Re: Black Panther Actor Dead at 43

My 36 year old daughter wants to know when to get checked. I was dxd stage 4 at age 58 but had not been checked at 50

(I am very sad about Chadwick Bozeman. He was an incredible person)

I'm still here! (cancerversary)

11years since liver surgery, not looking back since we shut the door on Stage 4. (don't jinx!)
I'm probably NED but have not been to Cancer Center during the pandemic. Keep da faith

Re: Input Regarding Continuing Oxi with Neuropathy Present

I did chemo #11 without Oxy, and quit before chemo #12. That was ten years ago. No more colon cancer, still have cotton-toes. Your mileage may differ.

I was told that my CEA isn't a reliable indicator, so I don't rely on it.

I'm 10 years out!

Hi everyone, it's been 10 years since my cancer was slashed, chemo'd and evicted from colon and liver. I'm posting to give hope to others who have bad odds at diagnosis. We are celebrating my cancerversary today and you are welcome to celebrate along in any way you choose. Cancer is an ugly beast bu...

Re: Liver resection scheduled!!

My incision was right down the middle. But maybe because they needed to leave some real estate on the right for my takedown.
Either way, you can treat yourself to a new tattoo after you finish treatment.
Welcome in advance to NEDville, long may you live there in happiness, strength and peace.

Re: Stage 4 to NED- Please tell us

Coming up on 10 years NED here. Chemo at Georgetown Lombardi. Liver resection at John's Hopkins. Adjuvant chemo, and done. No major setbacks during my year of treatment. Nutritionist helped me keep from fading away, tai chi instructor provided restorative Sundays. My kids were brave, and seemed to b...

Re: BLOG post Archive

Feel free to list it or not, if it's appropriate. My cartoon page, http://www.cancerIsSoFunny began in 2010. It went dormant when I lost my blogger login and password, but it's still online. It's my visual representation of cancer, starring Rage, Fear, Love and power. Okay, not much power, more like...

Re: Newly diagnosed stage 4 colon cancer at 42. Looking for hope and inspiration.

Hi friend. I had Stage 4, a tumor in my sigmoid colon with lymph node involvement and a liver met at age 58. After a rough start w emergency surgery for perforating colon and resection I went with standard protocols of chemo and liver resection, and adjuvant (mop up) chemo. Never say never but it ne...
