Re: survived stage IV colon cancer or colon cancer recurrenc

I'm sorry you're going through this again like us. My husband has done Folfox and Folfiri...now trying Folfiri + Vectibix. He has 20 or more mets that have recurred between his lungs and his liver. The doctors said more were likely not visible on the scan or are growing microscopically. For this rea...

NED except for CEA level. How to best catch recurrence?

My husband's doctors are throwing around the NED word because all of his tumors visible on scans are out. His CEA is slightly elevated (20's) after the last surgery and he has 5 more Folfiri treatments to go before stopping chemo to go to schedule of scans to catch recurrence. All of his resected me...

Re: 30 yr old on first round of folfox and avastin

I'm sorry...I know nothing about Avastin and diving. Your husband is amazing for still having the energy to dive while on chemo and after what he's been through. I would post a topic on this site and other cancer boards about it, and you'd probably get the best response that way. Good luck to you an...

BTW: the makers of Lovenox only provide financial assistance to patients without insurance :( I just called and found that out...in case anyone else is reading this and also needs help paying for the med

My husband is also on Coumadin (Warfarin), but the copay on this is very affordable.

Cheaper alternatives to Lovenox? Or copay assistance?

My husband is on Lovenox 2x daily, costing us $10 a syringe. We have some coverage by the Patient Advocacy Copay Assist Program, but they are running months behind with reimbursement. Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to Lovenox that does the same thing? Or other assistance out there for peo...

Re: treatment for blood clot in subclavian vein due to port?

My husband has been having terrible neck pain over the last 2-3 treatments of Folfox in the Fall and the first 2 Folfiri treatments this Spring. He had a portocathagram and ultra sound in the Fall, but they didn't see any evidence of th...

treatment for blood clot in subclavian vein due to port?

Does anyone know how doctors treat a blood clot due to a port ( left subclavian vein)? My husband Kenny's port/colon resection surgeon told us it's too risky to treat. The oncologist has not answered any questions about the clot yet. I worry about pulmonary embolisms or strokes or other issues that ...
