Re: When did you know something was wrong

also had a vague circular pain that i could never decide if it was my back or pelvic area. I can really relate to this one. I could never figure if the pain/discomfort was pelvic or back...and mine would radiate to my legs too. Now that you guys mention that, I had a pain in my right side, that kin...

Re: When did you know something was wrong

I thought I had just had hemmoroids, which I first had gotten while pregnant for my first daughter 30 years earlier, yet probably had had 3-5 reoccurances of hemmoroids in the past 30 years...the only thing was, in the past when I dabbed Preperation H on myself they went away, this time, I continued...

Re: Anyone taking Asprin daily?

I am an 8 year colo-rectal cancer survivor(8 years cancer free) and take a Low Dose/81mg Bayer aspirin everyday...it has been for years that I have been doing this, but can't say for sure how many...my guess would be at least 5 years. I told my doctor that I had heard it was good for my type cancer ...

Re: Giving up on dating due to potty issues

I found it: http://www2.mdanderson.org/app/pe/index.cfm?pageName=opendoc&docid=34 I'm not sure I can do the training exactly as prescribed because I have night classes twice a week and my supper meals will be not be regular. I might be able to build it around lunch if I make lunch bigger - at l...

Re: Giving up on dating due to potty issues

Gaelen, the problem is lack of knowledgable help. My colorectal surgeon says to experiment, but also that it's possible things won't get better. He did suggest high fiber and things got worse. He didn't seem too suprised by that and said everyone was different. The dieticians that I have talked to ...

Re: Giving up on dating due to potty issues

I had my surgery in Dec 04 and chemo and radiation finished in May 05. I have had the same potty issues since then. Glad to find out it is not just me. My doctor prescribed Lomotil. I can take 2 when I am having issues and it really settles things down. I only take it if I know I am going to be awa...

Re: Giving up on dating due to potty issues

I had an ileostomy bag for about 9 months. It wasn't until the last couple months before my reversal that I finally learned how to eat to avoid gas and keep things calm. I think an colostomy bag would be even easier to handle, and I would consider a permanent one if I bathroom issues keep me too un...

Re: Giving up on dating due to potty issues

Maybe getting an ostomy would be for you but there are those that aren't comfortable with that either. My SIL's mom had one for over 20 years, got a divorce and had a really hard time dating in her late 30's because of her ostomy. She went and had the kind you drain with a straw (J-pouch maybe?) an...

Re: Giving up on dating due to potty issues

Don't discount the going to the therapist idea. I had the same thought as you about stress being a provoker of cancer that that is why I started going to my therapist - to learn to reduce stress and depression and uncover attitudes that hurt me. It's been a really good learning experience and feels...

Re: pooped my pants at the gym

I sent a post to Helen before I read all the others on here and now I have to add that I love all of you on here that commented to Helen. You are all so down to earth. Again, I will say, although I have nothing to say encouraging to any of you, I sure do feel better knowing that others somewhere out...

Re: Giving up on dating due to potty issues

Yup, what that guys said, didn't make me feel all comfy either. My joke is that I should just wait to date until I am older and the guys my age are having prostrate/pee pee problems, then I will say, "no problem, I have poopie problems"...hahahaha Or you could just use the actual words - ...

Re: Hi new here and slightly worried!!

I know you are very worried, but don't get yourself all in a tizzy until you go to your GP...which I will assume will order a colonoscopy and as with all the others, I too agree, the prep is the worst (I feel nauceous even thinking about it...which is why I never even get all of in me, but apparentl...

Re: Terminology and abbreviations

Thank you...this will help me alot...I was clueless on alot of things on here, now maybe I will understand better...I was one of those people that didn't ask alot of questions and had the attitude that this thing was either going to take me or not, (plus I didn't want to know alot of stuff that may ...
