My God, I can't believe this is real. I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss; everyone's loss. You and Liz's family are in my heart and prayers.

Re: Oops, blood on the TP...

When was your last colonoscopy? Something significant enough to bleed should have shown up then. Maybe give your gastroenterologist a call to see what they recommend. It sounds like more than likely, the Coumadin is probably the culprit.

Keep us posted!

Re: FDA pulling Avastin for Breast Cancer?

I read about this yesterday (I think in the NY Times), but I can't find that same article. Here is another that explains the situation pretty well. It doesn't sound as though its use for colorectal cancer treatment is at risk: http://www.stltoday.com/news/national/article_480bcbe0-f931-59df-9549-d83...

Re: "The Big C"

Linney's character was diagnosed with melanoma based on the review I read. Quite honestly, I usually love the shows on Showtime, but the thought of watching it just makes me queasy after the year that my husband and I have had. I feel like the big "C" dominates enough of my thoughts alread...

Re: Back home from surgery

Great news! As you can see from my signature, my husband was in the same position last fall. He did the chemo, and while it wasn't fun, it also wasn't as bad as he expected. And we know that he did everything he possibly could to prevent recurrence. You're likely looking at six months of treatment, ...

I feel like I've read somewhere that chemo can affect your CEA, right? Also keep in mind that an infection or illness can as well.

When we talked to his oncologist last week about what would be happening in the coming weeks as chemo finishes, I asked about the frequency of CT scans (he's never had a PET). O...
