Participating in a trial...concerns

hi Guys, I thought I'd write for some input and thoughts. My cancer recurred and is fast growing, and is now also in my lungs. Erbitux has not worked so they just stopped it. I have the chance to participate in a phase 2 trial of a drug Lbh 589 by Novartis. At this point, I am really tired of medica...

I have an opportunity to participate in LBH 589 or Picoplatin clinical trials, and wonder the exact same thing. Is it worth it? For me, I think I have exhausted all treatment. And, with little Isabel - I have to keep trying!

I agree, it comes back and its just like before which DOES make it better. TIP - whites are more tolerable than reds.. at least for me. You try! I am a red wine fanatic and never drank any whites - now I gravitate towards lighter and sweeter wines, until chemo is done. It does vary by the day. Every...

I am surprised people ask. I wouldn't like that at all. I haven't had that happen. If it did.. it would definitely depend upon who asked & the context. I would definitely want to mess with SOME people's minds! "sorority initiation...Delta Upsilon Delta...can't tell you" "its where my locating de...

Congrats on the scan! As for insurance, we have a plan that allows for specialists etc and its easy to see who ever I want to see (second, third opinions etc) - - but we are having trouble with the CT and PET SCANS getting paid. They don't "code" them properly when they submit for payment and then t...

Hi Veronica Its a whirlwind, but you're doing great! I do not know what hyperplasia is, but you could probably inquire more details from your oncologist - don't be afraid to ask as many questions as you need, to feel comfortable and knowledgeable about your care. Its your health and your future! My ...

Well, I may be the "downer" here... :( I've had to shave it twice. FulFiri (the irinotecan does it) makes my hair very thin. My first go around, I rushed out after #3 and got it shaved. The previous 17 rounds of FulFox etc had all made it thin. For me, this was a long road. Recently (last week) I ha...

I can see how there is negative energy in pursuing liability. Yet, no matter how malpractice insurance costs skyrocket - there still has to be accountability. I believe in creating awareness in positive ways, but I also need to face the facts that IF the dr HAD caught this four years ago, it would h...
