Re: 5 months post LAR / Mucus in stools

Hi Lee.....I am nine years out from my initial DX and surgery. I have had mucous in my stool ever since my ostomy reversal surgery. In the beginning, it seemed that I released mucous almost every time I had a BM. Now it is only occasionally BUT nevertheless, still happens, sometimes even if I am not...

Re: Chemotherapy options/help

That would be me :-) Stopped oxy half way through chemo and glad I did because I still have crazy issues with neuropathy. My diagnosis was back in 2011 and I am still here and doing well. I believe that 5FU is the real "fighter" in the battle of colon or rectal cancers. Good luck!

Re: Post cancer fatigue

I wish I could say something positive regarding fatigue but unfortunately, I cannot. My path was chemo/rad daily for two months (weekends off) before surgery and six months of follow-up chemo after surgery. Eight years later, I am still very fatigued almost on a daily basis. I hope you see significa...

Re: CLUSTERINGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!

Clustering is miserable, painful and time consuming. My radiation onc told me to never wipe my bottom clean. He said always "pat, pat, pat" and get the same results without hurting yourself. He also gave me several peri-anal bottles (I think that is what they are called) to squirt myself c...

Re: InterStim after 10 years of LARS

Thank you so much for sharing this. I've never heard of InterStim and plan to speak to my GI doctor about it when I see him in July. I am almost 8 years out from my surgery and deal with many trips to the bathroom, sometimes all day long, before I can leave the house. My entire rectum has been remov...

What are you complaining about? You got a good report - no cancer. Wish I was so lucky!

Re: Did Daily Enema Users consult Doctors?

Not sure this will help anyone but here goes. I am over six years out from my iliostomy reversal and I still have days that I need to be close to the bathroom. My entire rectum was removed and my muscles down below are not the best anymore. Ten months ago, my gut went crazy out of control and I was ...

Re: New life after 25 years - Easy Enema

That is amazing and I am so happy for you. I tried a "vaginal/colon" cleansing kit from Amazon about 4 months ago. Unfortunately it didn't work well for me. The one I purchased had a tube that needed to be installed onto the bathroom sink. I had to change out the spigot head and filter in ...

Re: Marijuana is helping with my bathroom trips

Thanks for posting this. I have tried THC and CBD. The THC naturally makes me feel much better but unfortunately it easily puts me to sleep. So I am reluctant to use it during the day. I tried CBD oil for about two months last year, hoping that it would help with pain, clustering and inflammation ~ ...

Re: Scared & Would Love Some Advice

Hey Max....you are taking the correct/best path by seeing a good GI doctor. I think it's impossible (at least for me it was) to not dwell on the worries that come along with any "butt" issues. If you are extremely stressed and experiencing anxiety, you can always get help from your doctor....

Re: Dysautonomia, a new thing?

So sorry for what you are experiencing. Chemo has unfortunately left a large, lasting footprint on many of us. I have neuropathy that affects several parts of my body but nothing like what you have - I've never heard of it. I wish you the best and hope you find relief and peace of mind.
