Re: Just Diagnosed

Hey Saaa; You'll find our after surgery what Stage your cancer is (after they remove the lymph nodes attached to your colon and perform a biopsy on them). I'm stage 4, had a section of my colon removed then 25% of my liver about a month after that. I'll start my 10th chemotherapy treatment next Mond...

Re: I need Advice from caregiver & patient perspective

My first wife died of ovarian cancer & I was her primary caregiver. I watched her suffer for 2 years, suffering from the aftereffects of her chemotherapy, going thru 2 laparotimies, blood infusions, etc. The hardest thing I ever did was put her into hospice. My father died of stomach cancer &...

Re: I need Advice from caregiver & patient perspective

Aniqah; Worry more about your boyfriend that what happens to you should the cancer catch up with him. You're a big girl & I'm sure you can figure it out for yourself if not maybe it's time for you to move on so your boyfriend can find someone who truly cares about him. I have Stage 4 colon cance...

CH
I'm Stage 4. My oncologist hasn't recommended Avastin for me due to a recent study where patients on Avastin didn't show any significant improvement over those without Avastin. Talk to your doctor.

Re: When a Loved One Wants You to "Get Over It."

Brigita; You are who you are. :) My wife worries about everything  Last week the doctor's office called and left a message that her test results were in and she needs to call the office to get them. Well, of course, she immediately thought she had the "Black Plague" and would keel ov...

Re: Aspirin

The article I read this morning noted the dosage was 300mg whereas baby aspirin is 81mg. I don't think most physicians would recommend taking that much aspinin on a daily basis.

Good luck. It's been almost 2 months since my liver resection. I hope all goes well with the surgery and especially with the recovery.
