What would you do?

If you remember my past postings, I thought I could possibly have a colon tumor due to blood/mucus in stool, change in bowel habits, abdominal pain, and rectal pain/fullness. Well I had a colonoscopy on 8/17 -- all clear, except for hemorrhoids (two internal). Well, last couple of days stool is back...

Re: Colonoscopy tomorrow

Scope is over. I opted to do it with no sedation or pain medication. I had the IV in just in case it got really painful, and they had the syringes ready to go if I asked. Most uncomfortable part was the rectum and bend from descending to transverse. When it was all over she was really amazed I made ...

Re: Colonoscopy tomorrow

Prep part one went down easy. Prep part two is tomorrow morning.

Did you guys start off with watery diarrhea right away or did you start with solids first?

Re: white spots found in colon

The enlarged lymph nodes, weight loss, and night sweats all point of lymphoma. You need to get these nodes removed and biopsied ASAP. The fine needle biopsies can give false negatives really easy. A lymph node should not be 5 cm and 3 cm ever. If it was a shotty enlarged node from previous infection...

Re: Colonoscopy in 2 weeks from today

Scope is on Monday. Starting to get real nervous about it. Not nervous about the prep. I am anxious about the sedation, and then waking up and hearing potential bad news. I know only 0.9% of colon cancers are in my age group (20-34), which equates to 1,350 people out of America's 300,000,000, but it...

Re: Anyone have this symptom before being DX?

Thanks for responding. I'm 28 years old. No immediate family history. My grandma had rectal cancer when she was almost 70 years old. I don't pass mucus by itself. The only time it's present is when I pass stool, and its mostly found on the harder pellet stool clumps.

Anyone have this symptom before being DX?

I'm kinda freaking out here because this is weird. Did anyone have this symptom before being diagnosed: My bowel movements lately have been regular, everyday within 2 hours of waking. No matter how much fiber I've been ingesting, though, the first part has been pellets stuck together (bristol 2), an...

Colonoscopy in 2 weeks from today

Well guys -- update -- my colonoscopy is in two weeks from today. I'm doing the Movieprep solution. Of course now that I have it scheduled, everything that caused me to get a GI referral has all but vanished. I've become extremely regular....bm everyday 30 mins after waking. It's formed and normal s...

Re: New here. Maybe someone can offer advice?

Had GI appointment yesterday. She's been in practice for over 20 years. Had a good 25 minute discussion with her about my symptoms and family history (Mom - Crohn's), (Grandma - Rectal cancer in her 60s). She says most likely I have a mild form of ulcerative colitis or crohn's. That would explain th...

Chemo is poison?

What do you guys think of websites like www.drday.com that describe Chemo and radiation as poison and the worst possible thing you can do to your body? That it temporarily destroys the cancer while also destroying you? Been reading them for a few days now and it has me wondering....

Re: New here. Maybe someone can offer advice?

Well, still have eight more days to wait until my appointment. Having weird stinging in the rectum which sometimes feels like it comes from the tailbone area. I stopped the miralax. Abdominal cramps/pressure/bloating/gas went away, so I think the miralax caused that. Bowel movements got large and ha...

Re: New here. Maybe someone can offer advice?

Saw my doctor today. He finally agreed with my mom's history of Crohn's we should investigate further. Have appointment with GI on 7/28. Ugh, was soonest appointment. Looks like I can get a scope if I want. Hopefully I don't have to wait another two weeks past that appt. for a scope. I really hope i...

New here. Maybe someone can offer advice?

Looking for some insight here.... Back in March I had an ear infection so doctor gave me 10 days of Cipro. Took that and about 2 weeks after stopping Cipro I noticed extreme tailbone pain/pressure and frequent hard stools that had blood streaks on them. Alarmed, I went to the doctor and he examined ...
