Re: Just saying hello!

My heart, my mind, and my soul will never leave here in so many ways. Going through these things we go through (as patients and caregivers) is an unparalleled crazy ride with so many twists, turns, questions, fears...the love here is astounding.

Just saying hello!

Wow...I am sitting here with so many feelings. Back in 2009, my husband Stephen was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer, mets to the liver. I was very active on this board, and gained so much help and insight over the 11 months he lived. I'd stay up countless hours as he slept, trying to find some ...

Re: Updated on Terry 5/21/12

Terry, I just want you to know that I am sending out waves and waves of love to you right this very moment. Lots of it. More than I could fit in a million galaxies. Thank you for everything you've said and done for me over the past few years. I hope you can feel every single second of all the love f...

Re: end??????

Hi Matthew, I occasionally visit this board and catch up on my friends, and I was compelled to post a reply when I read your post. I'm so very sorry. My husband was 45 when he was dx with Stage IV, and lived almost a year before passing away. My experience was much like yours - a month before he die...

Re: When it's time, you know...

Pat, Next month it will be two years since Stephen passed away, and I can still remember clearly reading some of your posts out loud to Stephen as we were struggling with his cancer and looking for answers. I know it sounds trite, and I'm not sure I've said this before as concisely as I am now...tha...

Re: Jessica Smith

I feel so sad inside; I can't put my thoughts into words right now, but physically I feel a little nauseaus. I live in St. Augustine - very near to Jess- and would love to have details of her services if they are open to other than family members. If someone knows, please email me at cindyzparker@gm...

Re: Finished up my second SIRT treatment

Hi Patrick, I'd like to suggest that maybe you get a scan to see what's going on with your stomach instead of having your onc just surmise, if it hasn't changed by this point. After Stephen's SIRT, he had terrible back pain and a "nagging stomach pain" if I remember correctly...and just a ...

Re: Finally breathing better and a little good news...

Hi there Jess, I can really identify with what you said in your post regarding the way that, initially, everyone wanted to be a part of the "challenging case," and now it seems like they've grown weary with your situation. I felt the exact same with with Stephen, as treatment after treatme...

Re: So nice to have a good caregiver

Hi Tim, I have been following your situation, but not posting...and I'm really bad about coming back and checking on replies if I do post. It is very important to me to let you know that I have always respected and admired you, and I have always felt indebted to you for your love and concern and com...

Re: Going for the mapping part of SIRT in the morning...

Hi Patrick, The title of your post got my attention, and I wanted to respond about the SIRT. My husband had this last February. Although he passed away a few months later, I have to tell you that the Sir Spheres was the ONLY thing that ever helped his cancer. Stephen didn't respond to chemo; every s...

Re: Update on Larry

Anji, I was very touched when I read your post...it immediately brought me back to exactly a year ago. Stephen was in the hospital and he was slipping away pretty quickly. His "one wish" if you could call it that was to get home, to check out of the hospital, to lay in the chair in our yar...

Re: Caris tumor profile test....anyone have an opinion on th

My husband had this test after we asked our onc to perform it. Our doctor wasn't convinced it would be a good directional factor, but we thought differently so insisted. Stephen's results were interesting. I posted about this a while back, over a year...so not sure if it would be easy to find or not...

Re: Flax oil and cottage cheese

Stephen did the flaxseed/cottage cheese addition to his diet for a while. We didn't do the very strict Budwig Diet, but we did try to stay away from sugars, etc. For a while there, a trip to the grocery store would last many, many hours - there was so much label reading and second-guessing and specu...

Re: Sally / Dom ?

I keep up with Sally pretty regularly, but the last time we actually talked was a while ago I'm afraid...I think mid-December. She is back in the states, as she was only in Paris for a few months over the summer for work. She travels quite extensively and goes to really very cool places...always env...

Re: Indulge me, friends....

Your post reminded me of something I thought would be good to share with my friends here. Stephen and I were scheduled to attend his Egypt Highschool Reunion the end of May in Houston, where friends from all over the world would gather to reunite with their classmates. Stephen went to school for abo...
