COBRA Subsidy

Hey guys, It's been a while. David has been on STD (employer supplied) for a few months and we are now looking at either paying COBRA or me going fulltime at work and getting health insurance. I was told today that only people who are laid off can get the COBRA subsidy--we therefore don't qualify. W...

Hi Guys, While my David is at home recovering from his 23 days in the hospital and 2 major surgeries (one for small bowel blockage, one for peritonitis as a result of the first surgery), he is having some trouble with his temporary ileostomy and I thought you guys might have some advice for us. My p...

Re: Upper left side pain

Yep this is exactly what happens when David gets a small bowel obstruction. His pain is in a different location but the VERY SEVERE PAIN (I'm talking 3ml Diladid pain) comes and goes because your intestines are trying to push stuff past the obstruction. It is VERY painful. David's obstruction came f...

Re: Stephen

Oh Cindy, I have felt so utterly close to you as Stephen and my husband were on similar paths a couple of weeks ago. When their paths diverged, I no longer felt I could offer you anything but solace as you were entering unknown territory to me. Your postings have been so honest and I thank you for m...

I am so sorry you are in such a heartbreaking predicament and I watch in awe as you experience and adjust to each new circumstance with Stephen. It is clear your love for Stephen will guide your decisions f...
