Hi, I've just had my 6th colonoscopy - all clear! I used Picoprep as the "potion" which I've used the last few times. Have they changed the formula or is it my imagination that it wasn't as palatable as in the past???? My 23yr old is going to need a colonoscopy to investigate ado pain and ...

Re: Failure

Sarah, You are not a failure. I myself, now 7 years out still cannot attend or take part in any cancer charity event that would have me declaring my "survivor" status. My children have done Relay for life for years, they love going but understand that it's not for me. I financially contrib...

Re: 5 + years NED .What now.

Hi,

I'm in Australia too. I am 7 years NED and I have 6 monthly blood tests and a CT every second year. Colonoscopy is now on a 3 year cycle. It's never far from my mind though.......

Re: I'm bloody well going to write to this magazine!

I live in Australia, and I am also sick of the PINK! It's not just all the fund raising that is done, it's the "support" offered to a breast cancer survivor too. There is NOTHING for us. I was 42 when diagnosed. I was aware of 3 other people who were going through breast cancer treatment a...

Re: What's the situation after 5 years ??

Jimswife,

You asked in my thread about ongoing surveillance...... My onc says if I need to see her, make an appt, otherwise CT scans now every other year. Rectal cancer has been known to come back up to 15 years after tx. Not sure what happens at 15 years - complete discharge?

Hi all, I come on here most days, read all the posts but don't often respond. I will if I feel I can add something particular but usually it's all been covered and there's no point in repeating stuff. However, I do wish we could hit "Like" as on Facebook. I've just read a couple of posts, ...

Re: Sloppy abdominal muscles

Thanks everyone, seems it's quite common being lop sided! Disconap, I already do all that, plus personal training, weights, running and walking! Phew, sounds a lot doesn't it! I think some of my non cancer friends think I'm mad - they don't like exercise (neither did I 2 yrs ago), but I enjoy it now...

Re: Sloppy abdominal muscles

Ok,
So I'm not the only one left lopsided! And I hadn't though about there being more intestines on one side or the other! Ah well, I'll just keep doing what I am with fitness and wear spanx when I have a special event I want to look good for......
