Re: Bum infection?

Maybe ask your onc to refer you to a wound specialist? Most hospitals have one or a nurse that specializes in it. Just a suggestion, my only experience was with anal fissure caused by the radiation treatment and I was treated by the best doctor in Houston for it. Different doctor from my Oncologists...

Re: Chemo Brain Help?

I take multi vitamins (gummies for over age 50) started about two months ago....seems to have helped some with the chemo brain and several other issues I've had. Not perfect but every little bit helps

Re: Discomfort..any advice?

Maybe it's gas, just a thought....I've had that feeling when I eat foods that cause it. Maybe try keeping a list and switching up what she eats. Dairy and frozen fruits cause it big time for me

Re: Breast cancer confirmed

I have had breast cancer in both....one triple negative, the other 10% positive for hormones. I had lumpectomy for each...chemo...radiation. Md Anderson is where I go. All the Drs agreed lumpectomy was better than taking both off for me. Both were caught early with no lymph node involvement. The fir...

Re: 3 cancers- looking for positive stories

Sorry you're having to go thru this. Yes, I've had 3 cancers now. Onc says there is a .oo5% chance of this and I don't have any of the known genes. Just finished my last chemo and radiation for my latest which is triple negative bc. I've gotten the normal protocol of chemo /rads for each. Md Anderso...

Re: now breast cancer!

Yes...I had breast cancer diagnosed two different times. So that makes 3 primary cancers in all, none related. My dr says very unusual. I did surgery, chemo and radiation so if you have any questions please let me know. Good luck to you. Rhonda Chemos I did were taxol,5-FU, adriamycin, cytozan for t...

Congratulations on the good news! I hated the bag too and so did my little dachshund who thought I was hiding a new puppy in it. He would give me a "look" every time I had to wear it. Lol

Re: Neuropathy

I can't handle the drugs so I've tried other options. I have Pedag solar insulating insoles that I can move to any shoe. Keeps my feet really warm on the bottom. Also, I buy only 100% merino wool socks. I use a heated throw at the bottom of my bed every night. I put a quilt on top to keep the warmth...

Re: Cancer Causes

I believe mine was brought on by my immune system fighting the shingles virus which ive had outbreaks since my 20's. It gave the cancer cells a chance to grow. There is a recent study out of London that shows this could be the case. So now I'm trying to keep the shingles at bay along with the cancer.

Re: Looking for some positive stories to pass on

I have battled 3 primary cancers since 2007 and I am still here. Its not always been easy, one of the chemos I took isn't called the red devil for nothing.....but I do believe in the power of positive thinking ( for me anyway). I wish the best for you and your ex. Come here anytime for help. This is...

Re: Shingles question

I recently completed chemo for my second bout of breast cancer and I got a shingles outbreak every single time...ugh. My onc prescribed Valtrex. I took it for 7 days initially, then she had me stay on it for the remaining infusions. It did help with the severity. I have had shingles for most of my l...
