Can NED be my new boyfriend?

When I was first diagnosed I was told by my surgeon who did the colectomy that the liver would never be operable, too many tumors some too large. between him and the oncologist and the second opinion I was told I had 4-9 mos without chemo 1-2 years with it. If i was REALLY lucky 5. 6 months of chemo...

Re: Hi Kids, checking in

That's truly great! Have gobs of fun! You clearly would have gobs more fun if I were with you. But then i could see how the whole 'I don't know you' thing would prevent you from knowing that. <dreamy sigh> Hawaii

I have done both folfox and folfiri without the leucovorin. The nurses at my treatment center say they have not had leucovorin in over a year

Re: Can I just say...

Diane, I love your sense of humor! We all know that a sense of humor is an absolute must in this process. Ann Thanks Ann! I do what I can. A sense of humor is a must not just with terrible disease, but with life in general. One of my best accomplishments in life (so far) was to make a friend laugh ...

Re: Can I just say...

Ann, I've been eating a high fiber cereal with LOTS of fresh blueberries every morning. And I've sat down and tried to make myself go at regular times. Who knows though? Could be the combination of Irinotecan with a Vicodin every night. Or it could be the sacred, secret, half-naked ritual dance I've...

Can I just say...

I feel a need to announce this to someone who understands (and I know plenty of you will)... I had a bowel movement twice a day, every day this week - ON PURPOSE & IN THE TOILET! YAY!! I also have an urge to call my mommy and tell her I made doodie in the toilet all by myself like a big girl. I ...

Re: OT - Back from vacation!

Bill, that vacation sounds like abolute perfection. I got a mini version of a perfect road trip last week. I and two of my gal pals drove to the coast for the day. Couldn't have had better weather. Went out to lunch. Lunch wasn't great but the conversation was. Found a cool little shop that had tons...

Re: Irinotecan - What's your experience?

Part of me kind of hopes I lose my hair. Then people will stop saying "Are you sure you're really sick because you look so good. You've lost weight." It'd be like some cancer street cred. No one would doubt me then. And maybe they'd stop focusing on my weight. It's like people don't care W...

Re: Irinotecan - What's your experience?

Well, the first round is done. Wow that stuff made me dizzy! The whole time it was infusing I was super dizzy and as soon as it was done the dizziness went away. Weird.

I'm curious if/how many of you lost your hair while on it?

Re: First Week on FOLFOX...This SUCKS!

\PLEASE RESPOND IF YOU CAN!!!! But, I found that the pump was mentally wearing me down. My only thoughts were: 1) How many more hours till I'm hooked, 2) How tired will I be and how much sleep will I need, and 3) I don't think I'm gonna make it through this The thing about the pump that wears me do...
