Re: Any one have any info on City of Hope?

My original Onc. just left Texas to move out there and do research. He has always told me that he knows how to cure cancer but just needed the money. Earlier this year they paid him to come out because he holds some patents they needed. I'm hoping he wasn't just blowing smoke up my colorectal area!

Re: Sir Spheres side effects day by day

Went to the Dr. for 10 day follow up on Thursday. I outlined my side effects and he said I actually was having a pretty easy time. He said when I get the next round in about a month the side effects may be worse due to the left side of the liver being closer to the heart and stomach. I can hardly wa...

Re: Sir Spheres side effects day by day

Well, it's been a week since the procedure and the "flu like" syptoms are in full effect. I slept in until 11, went to work but found it very hard to concentrate and focus. I came home around 4 and slept until 8. My appetite has suffered some but that may be due to my only choices being fa...

Re: Sir Spheres side effects day by day

Well today was diferent. At about 6am I woke up and didn't feel right. I felt like I needed to eat something so I had some cereal and went back to bed. It didn't get any better, I finally got out about 12 and did a few things that had to be done. Then I was right back home. This must be the flu like...

Re: Sir Spheres side effects day by day

Well, I missed my daily update last night but I had a good reason. I worked a little and rested most of the day. Last night I felt good enough to go out dancing with my wife and some friends celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. We danced until almost 2am but I could feel it when I got home. T...

Re: Sir Spheres side effects day by day

Here I am on day 3, nothing really any different to report. Same fatigue in the evenings, maybe that's all I'm going to have?

Oh well, good night.

Re: Sir Spheres side effects day by day

Day 2 and now I'm starting to feel it. I was ok until about 3pm then the fatigue started. I had some late work and didn't get home until 8pm and I was dragging. Had my prilosec and another dose steroids. I'm starting to feel a little better now. If you have this treatment remember to take the steroi...

Sir Spheres side effects day by day

It's been about 24 hours since I got home from Baylor and my first treatment. I thought I'd document my side effects day by day for anyone who may be facing the procedure. A word of warning, as you can see in my sig I've had lots of chemo and almost no side effect so my experience may or may not be ...

Re: Sir Spheres next tuesday!

Well, I'm home from Baylor. it's only about 20-25 miles. Treatment went off without a hitch. The hardest part was some kind of pictures afterward that took 35 minutes and they had my arms fastens above my head! I thought my shoulders would fall off!

I'll keep you updated as the time goes by.

Re: Sir Spheres next tuesday!

Patrick, we've had over 50 days of 100+ degree weather, I feel like I've had a fever all summer! I've been reading about some of the issues that you've been having and I hope you get back to normal as soon as possible. As for eligibility, I was told that the mets have to be localized to the liver al...

Had mapping for Sir Spheres today

Just got home from Baylor hospital in Dallas. Had the mapping procedure today and it wasn't nearly as bad as I was thinking. Checked in about 7am, vitals, lab draw and into my room by 8am. They came and got me around 9 or so, I got some kind of sedation in my IV and all I remember was the nurse shav...

I'm waiting for the insurance company to approve my treatment. I'll be interested in your update about the mapping.

Good luck

Re: Anyone Else"Lose"friends, family because of your cancer?

I have been hesitant to post on this thread due to my private nature. But if you good people have the courage, why not me? I've pretty much lost my wife due to this horrible disease. For almost 2.5 years I've battled to stay alive for my wife and kids. My wife has been sleeping on the couch for over...

Re: Those with irinotecan and erbitux experience

Well crap! I did 52 rounds of Folfox and didn't have any real problems. Now my hair is falling out after 1 round of Irinotecan. Not only on my head but my mustache is going also. Good thing I have alot of hats!
