GI Doctor is cool!

Hey guys, Just had an endoscophy (I think it is spelt), I walked in to 2 pretty hot nurses and a middle aged doctor who said right can you please tell me your symptoms? I had written them all down as follows: 1. Going to toilet 3-5 times a day 2. Constantly feeling sick / nausia 3. Bleeding on and o...

Re: Mass in rectum...

I have my appointment with the GI in an hour... I'm a little nervous although really, really happy that the day has come. Because the mass is so close to my 'exit' I am sure he'll be able to see it / feel it and finally be able to tell me what it is... cancer, polyp, hemroid, whatever... at least I ...

Re: Doctors dismiss symptoms

I had been seeing blood in my stool for months, off and on, so I called my PCP for a check up, I was due for one anyway. I told him about the blood, and he said it might be hemorrhoids, or several other things. After I got home I realized the problem was not solved. I emailed him and asked what wer...

Re: Surviving Stage IV

Very sad to hear :( Keep fighting it... I am 23 and am just about to have inital consultation before hopefully a colonoscophy after some worrying symptoms... I'm quite scared at what lies ahead (cancer or not) so I can only imagine how you must be feeling... I wish you all the best and will pray for...

Can tumors protrude from rectum?

I was speaking to a nurse friend today and we were discussing my current situation when she suddenly said "Have you felt anything protruding from you?" I thought being a nurse I guess she had heard it all before so thought i'd be honest as she'd no doubt seen and heard much worse... "...

Re: Mass in rectum...

Feeling good again today, did another 3 hours of training yesterday... I guess I should slow down cause I will probably burn out my iron stores through exercise and head down the low iron path again... I was reading an article, which said that up to 4% of male athletes have iron deficiency. I...

Re: Mass in rectum...

***UPDATE***About 10 days into taking my iron tablets**** Well I went boxing tonight and felt better than I have for about a year, maybe two. I finally mentioned to my mum about being anaemic and she said from the age of 13/14 people were always saying I was very white and that I bruised amazingly ...

Re: Mass in rectum...

Hi guys, thank you for the advice and support and kick in the ass ;) Phoned the 'GI doctor', he seemed concerned with my symptoms and said that he wants to see me ASAP but that is quite a long time (3 weeks) and it is quite far away so cancellations are unlikely. He said same as you guys about could...

Re: Mass in rectum...

Hello guys... Just went back to doctors and he said 'We shall get you some blood tests done' I told him I already had some about 3 months ago. He checked them and said 'your iron levels were rather low was anything done about this?' and I said no... He said that is not good because I am borderline a...

Re: Mass in rectum...

Hi NWgirl, thanks for the advice... what confused me is that I have actually seen whatever it is protruding from my anus a few times (so is obviously very low) but doctor said he felt nothing.
